Representation Of Individuality Construction Established In Social Media In The Context Of Gender


The society we are living in is charging men and women with different roles and functions. These differences bring about different responsibilities and duties. This situation generates a “social gender” concept beyond the limits of the biological notion of “gender”. The new media of communication of “social media” is serving also a function of identity construction. Social media, in particular Facebook, enable us to open virtual accounts and to construct these as it pleases us. Social media presents us new opportunities as areas for fictional personality construction. This situation enables also different representations in means of social gender.
