Morphological Structure –mAz+lAn- and It’s Usage


The morphological structure “-maz+lan-” is not using often in modern Turkish language, thereby it is seem as alien element; although it was widely use in historical Turkish dialects. The scientists came to the common opinion, that the suffix “-maz,-mez” was the result of the combination of privative suffix “-ma, -me” and the participle or preformative suffix “-z”. The second part of this structure is suffix “la-n” or “lan”.There is no more examples for “maz+lan-” in the Turkish-Turkish Dictionary accept “bilmezlen-” But there are examples as “olmazlan-, almazlan-, görmezlen-, işitmezlen-, gitmezlen-”, which took place in historical Turkish dialects and some literary works. In this study, investigates morphological structures “görmezlen-, görmezlikten gel-, görmemezlikten gel-” and similar structures, their meanings and form characteristics.
