Political Theory And Politic System Classification Of Ibn Khaldun


The past of the scientific works of administration methods is quite old. The struggle of finding out the best one by examining political systems comperatively were not only limited with the past. It has been carried on until today. As well as the works that have been performed in West since the Ancient Greek Period, The Islamic World have submitted many precious works in aforementioned topic. One of those who submitted precious works for political theory and politic system classification was Ibn Khaldun. He, with the light of his experience and observations as someone who have taken part in politic life itself, has examined politic systems that could have been considered as beyond from his era. While the politic system classification has decreased to minimum with the theoratic thought came into prominence in the middle age of the west, In Islamic World, Researching the political systems which have been submitted by Ibn Khaldun without depending on the absolute theoratic thoughts keeps this essay valuable. In this respect, the very place of Ibn Khaldun in social sciences is considered primarily. Afterward, The concepts of State, Relationship and Presidency-Estate which are irrevocable for his politic theory are elaborated. Finally, Politic system classification of Ibn Khaldun, The basic contect, is studied generaly. Ibn Khaldun bisects them as theoratic based system and Estate based system whilke secting political systems. He also generalizes Estate based policy in two main topics as absolute estate and politic estate. What Ibn Khaldun named and idealized administration method as a theoratic based policy is Caliphate or Imamate.
