Ethem Nejat And His Role In Our Education History

Ethem Nejat, who was born in 1882, was the most important Otaman Educator in our education history. He worked as a director at teachers’ training schools in Bursa, Manastır and İzmir. It has been seen that Ethem Nejat had made a lot of studied about training teachers. Ethem Nejat, had opposed to Otoman Educaion System which was influenced by French impression, instead of this, he had defended an education system which provides a free behavior capability to yaung people and raises people who ara at peace with each other and have self-confidence. Ethem Nejat, who has seen that in order to rescue the country from this difficult condition, the first step is to improve the educationsystem, wanted to provide high qualities to teachers. According to him, teachers’ traininig schools must be made strong by courses, physical structure and education methods.
