Günümüz edebiyatında yaygın olarak bulunan postmodernist anlatılar, geleneksel gerçekçi romandan bir geçişi işaret eder. Bu geçişin aşamaları, Dostoyevsky'nin poetikası, Einstein'ın görelilik teorisinin ortaya çıkışı, Fransız Yeni Roman Akımı (YRA), modernizm ve postmodernizm olarak ifade edilebilir. Bunlardan YRA, 1950'lerde ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu akımın yazarları arasında, eserlerinde kullandığı yeni ifade teknikleriyle Michel Butor öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Mikhail Bakhtin tarafından ortaya atılan kronotop kavramını mercek olarak kullanarak, yazarın en ünlü romanı La Modification'dan (Değişim) alıntılarla yol, değişim, taşra kasabası ve eşik kronotoplarının varlığını analiz etmeye çalıştık. Analiz, okuyucuları YRA geleneğinde üretilen metinlerde kronotopları ve anlamlarını keşfetmeye yönlendirmeyi amaçlayan ifadeler içermektedir.
Postmodernist narratives, commonly found in literature today, mark a transition from the traditional realistic novel. The stages of this transition may be stated as Dostoyevsky's poetics, the emergence of Einstein's theory of relativity, the French New Novel Movement (NNM), modernism, and postmodernism. Of those, the NNM emerged in the 1950s. Among the authors in this movement, Michel Butor stands out with the new expression techniques he uses in his works. In this study, we attempted to analyze the concept of chronotope - coined by Mikhail Bakhtin - using it as the lens and present the existence of the chronotopes of road, exchange, provincial town, and threshold with quotations from the author’s most famous novel La Modification. The analysis includes statements that aim to guide readers to discover chronotopes and their meanings in texts produced in the NNM tradition.
