Çalışmanın amacı Türk Cumhuriyetlerinden gelen lisans ve lisansüstü öğrencilerin sportif aktivitelere katılımlarının sosyal uyum üzerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmanın yürütülmesi hususunda, Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Sosyal ve Beşerî Bilimler Etik Kurulu tarafınca 26/02/2021 tarihli 174 sayılı etik kurul kararı ile onay alınmıştır. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin bir çeşidi olan durum çalışması modelidir. Çalışmada spor aktivitelerin sosyal uyum üzerine etkisini incelemek amacıyla 8 öğrenci ile görüşmeler yürütülmüştür. Araştırmacılar Çankaya ve Mammadov (2020) tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formları ile veri toplama süreci sağlanmıştır. Öğrencilere etkinlik öncesinde 8; etkinlik sonrasında ise 15 sorudan oluşan formlar ile ses kayıtları alınmıştır. Elde edilen kayıtların yazıya dökümü gerçekleştirilmiş ve Nvivo programına aktarılarak betimsel analiz yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Son olarak ortaya çıkan kod ve tema listesi ile sonuçlar raporlaştırılmış ve öğrencilerin söylemleri kullanılarak alıntılara yer verilmiştir. Yapılan çalışma ile öğrencilerin yarısının iletişim kurmakta zorlandığı, fiziksel görünümüyle ilgili sorunlar yaşadığı ve uyum sağlamakta zorluk yaşadıkları belirlenmektedir. Ancak etkinlik sonrasında bu sorunları yaşayan öğrencilerin ön yargı ve kaygılarından kurtuldukları, bulundukları ortama rahatlıkla uyum sağladıkları ve arkadaşlarıyla kaynaştıkları tespit edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla, spor faaliyetlerinin insanları yakınlaştırdığı, rekabet ve mücadele ortamı oluşturarak insanları bütünleştirdiği, kişilerin bundan zevk alarak mutlu oldukları söylenebilir. Bu bağlamda rekreatif etkinliklerin arttırılması, öğrecilerin spor branşlarına yönlendirilmesi, bölümler arası okuldışı sportif faaliyetlerinin planlaması önerilmektedir.

The aim of the study is to examine the effect of the participation of undergraduate and graduate students from the Turkish Republics in sports activities on social cohesion. Approval was obtained with the 26/02/2021 dated and 174 numbered ethics committee decision of Ondokuz Mayıs University Social and Human Sciences Ethics Committee on the conduct of this study. The study is a case study model, which is a type of qualitative research methods. In the study, interviews were conducted with 8 students in order to examine the effect of sports activities on social cohesion. Data collection process was provided with semi-structured interview forms prepared by researchers Çankaya and Mammadov (2020). 8; After the activity, forms consisting of 15 questions and audio recordings were taken. The records obtained were transcribed and transferred to the Nvivo program and analyzed by descriptive analysis method. Finally, the results were reported with the resulting code and theme list and quotations were included using the discourses of the students. With the study, it was determined that half of the students had difficulties in communicating, had problems with their physical appearance, and had difficulties in adapting. However, after the activity, it was determined that the students who experienced these problems got rid of their prejudices and anxieties and easily adapted to the environment they were in. At the same time, after the activity, it was determined that the students socialized with their friends in the classroom, met outside the school and provided the opportunity to get to know them. Therefore, based on the findings of this research, it is determined that sports activities bring people closer, integrate people by creating an environment of competition and struggle, and people are happy by enjoying it As a result of this study, sports activities allow students who have adaptation problems to get rid of these anxieties, to express themselves and to communicate easily.
