Hititler, M.Ö. II. bin yılında Anadolu’da hüküm süren ve Yakındoğu tarihine damgasını vuran bir uygarlıktır. Hitit İmparatorluğu’nun başkenti olan Hattuşa pek çok yerli ve yabancı turist tarafından rehber eşliğinde ziyaret edilmektedir. Rehberler,  Hititlerin başkenti olan Hattuşa’yı kendi bilgi ve deneyimlerine göre turistlere anlatmaktadırlar. Rehberlerinin gözüyle Hattuşa, “Anitta’nın Lanetlediği Şehir”  “Tanrılar ve Tapınaklar Kenti”, “Bin Tanrılı Şehir”, “Kadeş Antlaşması”, “Kadın ve Erkek Eşitliğinin Yaşandığı Şehir”, “UNESCO Dünya Miras Listesine alınan yer” “Yazılıkaya” olarak algılanmaktadır. Rehberlerin büyük bir çoğunluğu Hattuşaş veya Boğazköy olarak kenti tanıtmaktadır.  Hatta rehberler Hattuša ve Yazılıkaya’yı ayrı yerleşimler olarak algılamaktadır. Rehberler uygulama gezisinde Hattuşa’yı ziyaret ettiklerini ancak çıktıkları turların çoğunun programlarında Hattuşa olmadığı için tekrar gelemediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Rehberler, görüşmelerde Hattuşa’da ulaşım sıkıntısı, yolların iyi olmayışı, lavabonun olmaması, yeterli canlandırmanın yapılmaması, bilgilendirme eksiklikleri, otların yoğunluğu ve kene tehlikesi, soğuk ve karlı havalarda ören yerinin ziyaretinde araçların hareket edememesi, yakın tarihte yapılan kazılar ve sonuçları hakkında bilgilendirmenin olmaması, çivi yazılı tabletlerle ilgili bilgilerin verilmemesi, bilet gişesinde yaşanan problemler, hediyelik eşya dükkânının yetersizliği vb. olumsuzlukları belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca, Boğazkale’de öğle yemeği aldıkları mekânların ve bu yerlerde verilen hizmetlerin yetersizliği de ifade edilmiştir. Nitel araştırma yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada profesyonel turist rehberlerinin gözüyle Hattuşa’nın çekici ve olumlu yönleri; rehberlerin turlarında Hattuşa’da yaşadıkları olumsuzluklar ve alt yapı sorunları; rehberlere göre Hattuşa’nın nasıl tanıtılabileceği ve Hattuşa ile ilgili önerilerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Hittites who ruled in Anatolia in the II.nd millennium BC and a civilization that left its mark on the history of the Near East. Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire, is visited by many local and foreign tourists with a pofessional tourist guide who can speaks their languages. The guides tell about Hattusa, the capital of the Hittites, to tourists according to their views. Hattusha is named as "The city cursed by Anitta", "City of Gods and Temples", "City of a Thousand Gods", "Kadesh Treaty", "the city where the equality of women and men is experienced", "The place included in the UNESCO World Heritage List", "Yazılıkaya" is perceived by the guides. Most of the guides introduce the city as Hattuşaş or Boğazköy. Even guides perceive Hattusa and Yazılıkaya as separate settlements. The guides stated that they visited Hattusa during the application tour, but that they could not come again because most of the tours they went on did not include Hattusa in their program. In the interviews, the guides made it possible for the transportation difficulties in Hattusa, the lack of good roads, the lack of toilets, the lack of adequate recreation, the lack of information, the density of grass and the risk of ticks, the inability of the vehicles to move during the visit to the site in cold and snowy weather, the lack of information about the recent excavations and their results, failure to provide information about cuneiform tablets, problems at the ticket office, insufficiency of the gift shop, etc. they stated the negativities. In addition, the insufficiency of the places where they have lunch in Boğazkale and the services provided in these places were also expressed. In this study in which qualitative research method is used, attractive and positive aspects of Hattusa according to the professional tourist guides; the negativities and infrastructure problems experienced by the guides in Hattusa during their tours. According to the guides, it is aimed to determine how Hattusa can be introduced and its suggestions about Hattusa.
