One of the disciplines that social media is involved in is the restoration projects. One of the many restoration projects encountered in the media and social media is the Şile Castle restoration, the restoration of which was completed in 2015. The restoration of the castle, which was built for the purpose of observation, located on Ocaklı Island, has been shared on many new media platforms. When the shares made on many different platforms about restoration are examined within the scope of the study, the 'SpongeBob Castle' analogy was found. By analyzing the posts made on Instagram, which is a social media platform with the content analysis method, sharing analyzes were made according to years. Although the shares of the completed project have been going on for 5 years, the continuation with the same analogy and the increase of the statistical shares are supported by the repetition of "Spongebob Castle" in new restoration works at home and abroad in different platforms. In the method of working, it was concluded that the information about the castle and the restoration was minimal in 76 humor-based Instagram posts, which were analyzed with the 'Picpanzee' application, where Instagram statistics were controlled, and that the foundation was kept as humor in the criticisms made.The current effect on the social media platforms, where the widespread influence within its body has been gaining momentum, has been handled with the example of the restoration of Şile Castle.
