İletişim, iş ve özel hayatımızda olduğu gibi sporda da başarının önemli öğelerinden biridir. Spor, oyun, eğlence, hareket, yarışma ve sağlık amaçlı yapılırken, son zamanlarda dijital oyunlar, espor kavramıyla resmileştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da geleneksel sporcular ile esporcuların iletişim beceri düzeylerini karşılaştırmalı olarak incelemektir. Çalışmanın örneklemini 412 geleneksel sporcu ve 412 esporcu olmak üzere 824 kişi oluşturmuştur. Veriler yüz yüze ve Google Formlar aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak demografik bilgiler anketi ve İletişim Becerileri Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 25 paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde f, yüzde ve betimsel istatistikler yapılmıştır. Normal dağılım göstermeyen verilerin karşılaştırılmasında Mann Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Farkın hangi gruplar arasında olduğunu belirlemek için Kruskal Wallis H testinden yararlanılmıştır. Analizlerde güven aralığı %95 (p<0,05) olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada, geleneksel sporcular ve esporcuların iletişim becerileri puan ortalamaları karşılaştırıldığında bütün boyutlarda geleneksel sporcular lehine istatistiksel anlamlı farklar bulunmuştur. Cinsiyete göre esporcularda fark bulunmazken, geleneksel sporcularda kadınlar lehine farklar tespit edilmiştir. Yaş değişkenine göre orta yaş grubu lehine fark belirlenirken, eğitim düzeyinde lisans ve lisansüstü eğitim seviyesine sahip katılımcılar lehine farklar belirlenmiştir. Spor yaşına göre her iki grupta fark, spor yılı yüksek olanlardan kaynaklanmıştır. Sonuç olarak; geleneksel sporculardaki iletişim beceri düzeylerinin esporculardan daha iyi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Demografik değişkenler açısından her iki grupta da iletişim becerilerini etkileyen unsurların birbirine yakın olduğu saptanmıştır. Yaş, eğitim ve spor yaşının hem geleneksel sporcularda hem de esporcularda aynı özelliklere sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu alandaki çalışmaların değişik ölçüm ve veri toplama araçlarıyla yapılması aradaki benzerlik ve farklılıkların daha net ortaya çıkmasını sağlayacaktır.

Communication is one of the important elements of success in sports as well as in our business and private lives. While sports are done for games, entertainment, movement, competition and health purposes, recently digital games have been formalized with the concept of esports. The aim of this study is to comparatively examine the communication skill levels of traditional athletes and esports players. The sample of the study consisted of 824 people, including 412 traditional athletes and 412 esports players. Data were collected face to face and via Google form. Demographic information questionnaire and communication skills scale were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 25 package program. In the analyses, f, percentage and descriptive statistics were made. Mann Whitney U test was used to compare the data that did not show normal distribution. The Kruskal Wallis H test was used to determine between which groups the difference was. Confidence interval was determined as 95% (p<0.05) in the analyzes. In the study, when the mean of communication skills of traditional athletes and esports players were compared, statistically significant differences were found in favor of athletes in all dimensions. While no difference was found in esports players according to gender, there were differences in favor of women among traditional athletes. While the difference in favor of the middle age group was determined according to the age variable, the differences were determined in favor of the participants with graduate and postgraduate education levels at the education level. The difference in both groups according to sports age was due to those with high sports years. As a result; It has been determined that the communication skill levels of traditional athletes are better than esports players. In terms of demographic variables, it was determined that the factors affecting communication skills were close to each other in both groups. It has been determined that age, education and sports year have the same characteristics in both traditional athletes and esports players. Conducting studies in this field with different measurement and data collection tools It will make the similarities and differences between them more clear.
