In the Turkish accents of Turkey, where there are many old and new linguistic forms, the conceptual scope of the lexis for animals is particularly comprehensive. One of them is future tense and adjective-verb affix {-cı} that is seen in the Turkish texts written in VIII century. This affix is used in the words that are names to pregnant animals in today’s Turkish accents of Turkey. For example, kuzlacı for sheep that is about to give birth, bodlacı for camel that is about to give birth. This shows the direct relationship of the language with the living style.

Interpreted in the light of this knowledge, dialect atlases provide important inferences with respect to both sociocultural and political matters. Despite many developed countries in the world completed their dialect atlases, such a work hasn't started in Turkey yet. Preparing Turkey Turkish's dialect atlas before disappearance of its dialect characteristics carries significance in point of our langugage and culture history.

The region called East Thrace is in the northwest of Turkey. The east branch of Rumelia dialect is spoken in the cities which are in this region. Rumelia dialects of the east region have not been studied scientifically enough. East Thrace dialects include the dialects of Gacal, Daglı, Pomak and immigrants. Even though these dialects keep their characteristics, they are on the edge of making up a common dialect by influencing each other. Not all the optative suffixes are used in these dialects. Optative meaning is corresponded by impretive suffixes. While East Thrace dialects appear to have a common dialect characteristic, at the same time they gain the characteristics of Istanbul Turkish.

Idioms play an important role in the vocabulary of a language in terms of the briskness, fluency and the richness that they add to the expressions. In this study, the non-literary idioms of Ordu, Giresun, Rize and Trabzon dialects of the Central and Eastern Black-Sea Region Dialects are dealt with. The idioms which are taken from the texts of the dialect-studies on the afore-mentioned regional dialects and from Derleme Sözlüğü are evaluated with respect to origion, structure, meaning and syntax.
