Yazma eserler, Türk edebiyat tarihi için birincil kaynaklardır. Geçmiş yüzyıllara ait birçok edebî ve tarihî bilgi, yazma eserler sayesinde bugüne kadar ulaşmış ve  kaybolup  gitmekten kurtulmuştur. Dolayısıyla gerek ülkemizdeki gerekse yurtdışındaki kütüphanelerde bulunan özellikle Türkçe yazma eserlerin ilmî yöntemlerle tetkik edilip tanıtılması, Türk edebiyat tarihi için büyük önem arz etmektedir. 15. asrın başlarında Ahmed-i Dâ’î tarafından kaleme alınan  Çeng-nâme isimli mesnevi de, araştırıcılar tarafından orijinal bir eser sayılmış ve çeşitli çalışmalara konu edilmiştir. Bugün Çeng-nâme’nin birisi tam, diğerleri eksik olmak üzere bilinen üç nüshası mevcuttur. Çeng-nâme hakkında yapılmış olan ilmî çalışmalarda bu üç nüsha kullanılmıştır. Bu makalede ise Çeng-nâme’nin daha önce hiçbir ilmî çalışmada kullanılmayan Leipzig nüshası tanıtılacaktır. Leipzig Üniversitesi Kütüphanesinde, Ms. Gabelentz kataloğunda numara 57’de kayıtlı olan bu Çeng-nâme nüshası, H. 884 - M. 1479/1480 yılında istinsah edilmiş olup 66 varaktan oluşmaktadır. Bu yazmanın en önemli özelliği, daha önceki Çeng-nâme nüshalarından farklı bölümleri ihtiva ediyor olmasıdır.  Dolayısıyla Çeng-nâme hakkında daha önce ileri sürülen bilgilerin Leipzig nüshası vasıtası ile gözden geçirilmesi mümkün olacaktır. Bu makalenin “Giriş” bölümünde, 15. asrın ilk yarısında Anadolu sahasında yazılmış mesnevilerin ortak özellikleri üzerinde kısaca durulacaktır. Ardından, makalenin “Birinci Bölüm”ünde, Çeng-nâme hakkında bilgi verilecektir. “İkinci Bölüm”de ise Çeng-nâme’nin yeni nüshası- Leipzig nüshası- tanıtılacaktır. Makalenin son bölümünde, yani “Üçüncü Bölüm”ünde, Çeng-nâme’nin Leipzig nüshasının imla hususiyetleri üzerinde kısaca durulacaktır.

Manuscripts are the primary sources for the history of Turkish literature. Many literary and historical information belonging to the past centuries have survived until today thanks to manuscripts and has been saved from disappearing. Therefore, it is of great importance for the history of Turkish literature to examine and introduce especially Turkish manuscripts in libraries both in our country and abroad with scientific methods. The masnawi named Çeng-nâme, written by Ahmed-i Dâ'î at the beginning of the 15th century, was deemed an original work by researchers and has become the subject of various studies. Today, there are three known copies of Çeng-nâme, one complete and the others incomplete. These three copies were used in the scientific studies made about Çeng-nâme. In this article, the Leipzig copy of Çeng-nâme, which has not been used in any scientific study before, will be introduced. Registered at number 57 in the Ms. Gabelentz catalog at the University Library of Leipzig, this copy of the Çeng-name was copied in 884 (Hijri)- 1479/1480 (Gregorien) and consists of 66 leaves. The most important feature of this manuscript is that it contains different parts from the previous Çeng-nâme copies. Therefore, it will be possible to review the information about Çeng-nâme previously put forward through the Leipzig copy. In the "Introduction" section of this article, the common features of masnawis which were written in the first half of the 15th century in the Anatolian field will be briefly discussed. Afterwards, in the "First Chapter" of article, information about Çeng-nâme will be given. In the "Second Chapter" of the article, the new copy of Çeng-nâme- Leipzig copy- will be introduced and in the last part of article, in short "Third Chapter", the spelling features of the Leipzig copy of Çeng-nâme will be briefly emphasized.
