Bazı teknolojiler toplum tarafından kolayca benimsenmekte ve kullanılmaktadır. Akıllı cep telefonlarının kısa sürede hızla yaygınlaşması bunun bir örneğidir. Ülkemizde özellikle gençler arasında akıllı cep telefonu kullanımı son derece yaygındır. Genellikle iletişim, internetten yararlanma ve multi medya özelliklerinin sağladığı olanaklarla, bireylerin ceplerinde her an her yere taşıyabildiği bu teknolojik cihazlar yaşamı kolaylaştırmaktadır. Fakat, ortaya çıkan bazı davranış değişiklikleri nedeniyle okul ve aile yaşamında çeşitli sorunlara neden olmaktadır. Gerekli literatür taraması sonrasında, 2017-2018 öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında 21.081 lise öğrencisinin araştırma evrenini oluşturduğu Sivas merkez ilçede onbir ayrı lisenin 9-10-11 ve 12. sınıflarda öğrenim gören 537 öğrenci tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile araştırmaya dahil olmuştur. Araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ve 57 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu deneklere uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler, SPSS 23 programında değerlendirilerek, elde edilen bulgular bu çalışmaya konu edilmiştir. Araştırmada, lise öğrencilerinin içinde bulundukları sosyo-ekonomik koşullar doğrultusunda, okul ve ev ortamında akıllı cep telefonu kullanma davranışı çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, lise öğrencileri arasında akıllı cep telefonu edinmenin bir zorunluluk olarak görüldüğünü, kullanımının son derece yaygın olduğunu, erken yaşlarda telefon sahibi olunduğunu ve önemli bir bağımlılık sorunu yaşandığını ortaya koymaktadır. Okul ve ev ortamında akıllı cep telefonu kullanımının ikili ilişkilerde çeşitli sorunlar yarattığı ortaya konmakta, özellikle derslerin işlenişi sırasında açık tutulan ve derste kullanılan cep telefonlarının önemli bir sorun kaynağı olduğu verilerle desteklenmektedir.

Some technologies are easily adopted and used by the society. An example of this is the prevalence of smartphones in a really short time. Usage of smartphones is highly widespread in Turkey, especially among youngsters. In general, due to their opportunities such as communication, utilization of the internet and multimedia characteristics, these technological devices which could be carried everywhere make life easier. However, because of the changes in some behaviors that are observed, these devices pose some problems in the school and family life. As a result of the literature review, 537 students who were enrolled at eleven different high schools in the central province of Sivas in Turkey in the academic year of 2017-2018 among the respective population of 21,081 by random sampling. A questionnaire form consisting of 57 questions that was developed by the researcher was applied to the subject, and the data that were obtained were analyzed by using SPSS 23, and the findings that were obtained are included in this study. The study investigated the smartphone usage statistics of high school students at home and at the school based on different variables and their socioeconomic characteristics. The data that were obtained showed that owning a smartphone was seen as a requirement among high school students, the prevalence of using these devices was really high, people owned smartphones at very early ages, and there was a serious problem of addiction. It is demonstrated by data that using smartphones in the school or home environment creates various problems in bilateral relationships, and especially smartphones that are kept as turned on and used in classes are a significant source of problems.
