Rebellion in Turkish National Struggle and 150 Persons


With the signing and implementation of the Mondros Armistice, the Ottoman State actually lost its military power. Because this is an unconditional surrender document. According to the armistice, Ottoman Army was disbanded. Weapons, ammunition and transportation routes, and all means of communication, ports and shipyards were left to control of the victorious states. As the Entente States occupied all four corners of Anatolia, unrest occurred in the Anatolia. As the Entente States occupied all four corners of Anatolia, uprisings were occurred in the country. While Anatolia was trying to fighting for independence and freedom on the fronts; many villages and cities had become a battleground. With the revolts; national was tried to struggle both uprising and occupation of the Entente States. The total loss of property and life in these internal uprising in some places were over the losses caused by Greeks and Armenians. The uprisings generally occurred as a result of provocations between Istanbul government and the Entente States. The majority of the Anatolian people did not participate in the uprising movements and remained loyal to the Ankara government authority. With the victory of the National Struggle Republic of Turkey did not forget rebellion’s leaders. While seeking an answer to the question of who was involved in these revolts, it was understood that some of these people were from the 150 persona non grata and the subject of the 150 persons in the riots was the subject of the research. They were punished by the method of expulsion from country. Although they were discharged from 150 citizenships with this rare punishment method in the world, they were forgiven in 1938.
