İnsanların toplumsal yaşamlarına yön verebilmek, başkalarıyla olan iletişimlerini daha olumlu bir düzlemde ilerletebilmek, insanlarla ortak bir paydada buluşabilmek için bazı kaidelere ihtiyaç duyduğu bilinmektedir. Bu kaideler zamanla değer olarak toplumda yerini almış ve insanların sahip olması beklenen özellikler olarak nitelenmiştir. Değer kavramı, birçok disiplinin araştırma ve inceleme konusu olmuş ve çeşitli tanımları yapılmıştır. En temel olarak TDK’ye (2019) göre değer; “Bir şeyin önemini belirlemeye yarayan soyut ölçü, bir şeyin değdiği karşılık” olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Sönmez’e (2011, s.14) göre de “Değerler, bireyin yaşamını kendi eliyle oluşturmasında etkin bir faktör olan, ona bir hayat felsefesi arz eden ve toplum içinde ona kılavuzluk ederek davranışlarını şekillendiren unsurlardır.” Bu nedenle günümüzde değerler eğitimi önceki yıllara göre daha çok önemsenmekte ve Millî Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı tüm devlet okulları ve özel okullarda çeşitli projeler aracılığıyla aktarılmaya ve yaşatılmaya çalışılmaktadır. Geliştirilen ve güncellenen öğretim programlarında da değerler eğitimine geniş kapsamda yer verildiği görülmektedir. Dil becerileri geliştirilirken değer ediniminin de sağlanması önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle çocuk kitaplarının bu açıdan incelenmesi önemlidir. Şermin Yaşar ise son zamanlarda çocuklar için de kitaplar yazan ve çok okunan önemli bir yazardır. Bu nedenle kitaplarının incelenmesi gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Bu da çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Şermin Yaşar’ın çocuk kitaplarının Talim Terbiye Kurulunca belirlenen on kök değer (adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, sevgi, saygı, sorumluluk, özdenetim, sabır, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik) açısından incelenmesidir. Bu kitaplardaki değerleri incelemeye ve değerler eğitimin önemini ortaya koymaya çalışan bu araştırmanın alana katkı sağlayacağı ve öğretmenlere, ailelere ve çocuklara seçecekleri kitaplar konusunda yol göstereceği düşünülmektedir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde doküman incelemesi kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilerek bulgular adı altında verilmiştir.

It is seen that values ​​education is included in a widescope in the developed and updated curricula. While developing language skills, it is important to provide value acquisition. Therefore, it is important to examine children's boks from this perspective. Şermin Yaşar, on the other hand, is an important writer who has recently written boks for children and is widely read. For this reason, it is thought that his boks should be examined. This constitutes the starting point of the study. The aim of this study is to examine Şermin Yaşar's children's books in terms of ten root values ​​(justice, friendship, honesty, love, respect, responsibility, self-control, patience, patriotism, benevolence) determined by the Board of Education and Discipline. It is thought that this research, which tries to examine the values ​​in these book sand to revea lthe importance of values ​​education, will contribute to the field and will guideteachers, families and children about the boks they will choose. In the research, document analysis was used in. Qualitative research method sand the data obtained were analyzed by descriptive analysis method and given under the name of findings.
