This research was carried out in Turkey in order to reveal the perceptions of two groups through metaphors: teachers who attended “Philosophy for Children” awareness training and the students who participated in the activities where “Philosophy for Children” activities were carried out. The phenomenology method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research and 141 teachers who received "Philosophy for Children" awareness training and 130 students who participated in philosophy activities for children constitute the sample of this study. As the data collection tool, the form containing the sentence 'For me, doing Philosophy studies for children is like......, because.........' was created by the researchers and the answers received were analyzed by content analysis method. When the findings obtained from the research are examined; it was observed that metaphors such as 'sea, game, sky, seed, sun, freedom, water, breath and key' were produced mostly by teachers for the concept of "Philosophy for Children". In other respects, most of the teachers produced positive metaphors for this concept. It was deduced that the metaphors the students produced the most were entertainment and games. Again in the study, it was determined that the students did not produce negative metaphors for the concept of "Philosophy for Children". While the metaphors produced by the teachers were mostly related to the themes of thinking and being ambiguous in terms of their common characteristics, the metaphors produced by the students were included in the themes of thinking, values and being a guide. When the themes of teachers and students were examined, it was determined that both groups saw philosophy for children intertwined with the act of thinking. This result shows us that philosophizing is understood correctly because it involves asking questions and thinking. It can be said that the unification of the students under the theme of values is due to the fact that the process is processed through a story, a situation or a video appropriate to the level of the student while doing philosophy studies for children.
