Müzik eğitiminin en önemli, en yaygın ve en etkili alanlarından birisi olan koro eğitimi, çocukların gerek müzik gerek bilişsel gerek kültürel ve toplumsal gelişimlerinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Benzer şekilde, resimler, çocukların yaşantıları ve duyguları hakkında sözlü ifade edemedikleri duygularının yansımalarıdır. Çocukları anlamada onların yaptıkları resimlerin güçlü araçlar olduğu bilinmektedir. Yaptıkları resimlerin doğru okunması ile çocukların duygu durumları, sosyo ekonomik konumları, kavramlarla ilgili algıları ve bunun gibi birçok konuda bilgi sahibi olunabilir. Çocuk resimleri, çocukların çeşitli kavramlarla ilgili algılarını veya herhangi bir durum karşısında hissettikleri duygularını anlamada yetişkinlere oldukça önemli ipuçları vermektedir. Çocuklar kendilerini ifade ederken sözlü ifadeden ziyade resim, oyun, masal gibi araçlar kullanmayı tercih ederler.  Araştırmanın amacı, çocukların kavram algılarının oluşmasında ve gelişmesinde koro eğitiminin (şarkılarının) etkisinin tespit edilmesidir. Araştırmada tek gruplu öntest- sontest deseni kullanılmıştır. Buradan hareketle Akdeniz Üniversitesi Devlet Konservatuvarı Çocuk Korosuna katılan 21 çocuk ile ‘orman’ konulu şarkılar çalışmış ve bu çalışmaların öncesinde ve sonrasında aynı çocuklara ‘orman’ konulu resimler yaptırılmıştır. Böylece koro eğitiminin çocukların kavram algıları üzerindeki etkisi onların yaptığı resimler aracılığı ile ölçümlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda çocukların yaptığı resimler arasında koro çalışmaları öncesi ve sonrasında anlamlı farklılıklar gözlemlenmiştir. Koro da çalışılan “orman” temalı şarkılar ile çocukların “orman” kavramını daha iyi anlamlandırdıkları gözlemlenmiştir. Böylece çocukların yaptığı resimler aracılığı ile koro eğitiminin çocukların kavram algılarına olan pozitif yansımaları tespit edilebilmiştir.

Choir education, which is one of the most important, common and effective areas of music education, reserves an important place in musical, cognitive, cultural and social developments of children. Similarly, drawings reflect children’s feelings about their experiences and emotions that they are not able to express verbally. It is known that drawings that they made are powerful tools to understand children. By properly reading the drawings they made, you can access information about children’s emotional states, socio-economical places, their perceptions about concepts and many subjects such as these. Children’s drawings give rather important clues for grown-ups to understand children’s perceptions about various concepts or emotions that they feel when they encounter any situation. Children prefer tools such as drawings, games and stories rather than verbal expressions when they are expressing themselves. Aim of this research is to identify the effect of choir education (songs) on construction and development of children’s concept perceptions. In the research single group pre-test and post-test model is used. Starting from here, with 21 children who participate in Akdeniz University State Conservatory Children’s Choir, ‘forest’ themed songs were practiced and before and after these practices, same children were asked to draw pictures about ‘forest’. Thus, the effect of choir education on children’s perceptions of concepts were tried to be measured through drawings by themselves. As a result of the research, significant differences were observed between the pictures made by the children before and after the choral work. It was observed that children understood the concept of "forest" better with "forest" themed songs performed in the choir. Thus, the positive reflections of choral education on children's concept perceptions could be detected through the pictures made by the children.
