Bu çalışmada, aile yaşam döngüsünün farklı gelişimsel evrelerinde bulunan çiftlerin çatışma yaşama nedenleri ve çatışma çözme stillerine ilişkin görüşleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemi ve fenomenolojik desen kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubunun belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Maksimum çeşitliğinin sağlanabilmesi için her gelişimsel dönemden en az üç çift ile görüşme planlanmış olup toplam 40 kişi ile görüşülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde içerik analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Çiftlerin, ilişkilerini nasıl tanımladıkları, yaşadıkları çatışmaları ve çözüm yollarını saptamak amacıyla sorulan sorulara verdikleri cevaplardan birbiriyle ilişkili üç tema;  ilişki algısı, çatışma nedenleri, çatışma çözme stilleri olarak belirlenmiştir. İlişki algısı temasıyla ilişkili uyumlu ve sorunlu ilişki alt teması, çatışma nedenleri teması ile ilişkili, iletişim, farklılıklar, sınırlar, roller, ekonomi, kişilik özellikleri/ruh sağlığı ve pandemi alt temaları belirlenmiştir. Çatışma çözme stilleri teması ile ilişkili problem çözme, saldırgan ve kaçınma alt temaları ortaya çıkmıştır. Çiftlerin ilişkide çatışma nedenleri ve çatışma çözme stillerine yönelik görüşleri doğrultusunda bulgular tartışılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, çiftler ilişkilerinde farklı nedenlerden dolayı çatışmalar yaşadığını ifade etmişlerdir. Bazı çiftler, yaşadıkları çatışmaları, yapıcı çatışma çözme stilii olan problem çözmeyi kullanarak çözmesi nedeniyle ilişkilerinde uyumun arttığını belirtmişlerdir. Bazı çiftler ise daha saldırgan çatışma çözme stilini kullanıldıkları için, ilişkide kızgınlık, stres ve anlaşılmamışlığın yaşandığını söylemişlerdir. Bunlara ek olarak çatışmalarını görmezden gelen, erteleyen çiftler ise çatışmayı çözmek yerine kaçınmayı tercih ettiklerini belirtmişlerdir.

The aim of the study is to determine the reasons for conflict and conflict resolution styles of couples who are at different developmental stages in the family life cycle. In the study, phenomenologic design with qualitative research method was used. The study group was determined according to the maximum variation sampling method. In order to achieve maximum variation, at least three couples from each developmental period were planned to be interviewed, and a total of 40 people were interviewed. Semi-structured interview form, and personal information form were used as data collection tools. Content analysis method was used to evaluate the data. Three interrelated themes were determined from the answers given by the couples: relationship perception, conflict reasons, conflict resolution styles. The compatible and problematic relationship sub-theme associated with the relationship perception theme,  the theme of causes of conflict were; communication, differences, boundaries, roles, economy, personality traits/mental health and pandemic subthemes. Problem solving, aggressive and avoidance subthemes associated with the theme of conflict resolution styles emerged. The findings were discussed in line with the couples' views on the causes of conflict in the relationship and conflict resolution styles. As a result, couples stated that conflicts occur in their relationships for different reasons and that some couples solve these conflicts by using the problem solving style, which is one of the constructive conflict resolution styles, and this increases the compatibilityin their relationships. Because some couples used a more aggressive conflict resolution style, it was observed that anger, stress, and ambiguity were experienced in the relationship. In addition, couples who ignore or postpone their conflicts prefer to avoid rather than resolve the conflict.
