Çok hızlı bir şekilde değişen ve gelişen teknolojiyle birlikte olarak hayatımız da bir değişme sürecindedir. Tüm bu süreçte geçmişten gelen değerleri korumak ve gelecek nesillere aktarmak “biz” kalabilmek için önemlidir. Bu gelişmelere paralel olarak son yıllarda Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının da öğretim programlarında değerlere daha fazla yer verdiğini görmekteyiz. Özellikle Türkçe dersinde değerleri verirken metinler üzerinden hareket etmek, daha kalıcı ve uygulamaya yönelik öğrenmelerin gerçekleşmesini sağlayacaktır. Bu hususta tarihten bize emanet kitapları kullanmanın faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu kitaplardan biri de şüphesiz Kutadgu Bilig’tir. Kutadgu Bilig, bir siyasetname olmanın yanı sıra milli ve evrensel değerleri günümüze taşıyıcı bir davranış eğitimi kitabıdır. Kitabın uyaklı ön sözünde de yazdığı gibi, Kutadgu Bilig, Türkçede bütün hikmetleri toplayan bir kitaptır. Kutadgu Bilig’de yer alan pek çok değer göze çarpmaktadır. Günlük hayatı düzenleyen kurallar, kime nasıl davranılacağı, iki dünyada mutlu olabilmek için sahip olunması gereken özellikler, çeşitli meslek gruplarının, halk tabakalarının özellikleri ve bunlarla nasıl geçinileceği gibi pek çok konu yer almaktadır. Bu konuların içinde yer alan milli ve evrensel değerlerin, alegorik bir şekilde karşılıklı konuşmalarla olay örgüsü içerisinde yer alması, çeşitli söz sanatlarının kullanılması, basitten karmaşığa ilkesiyle yazılması, vb. sebeplerle eğitimde kullanılmaya gayet elverişli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının 2019 yılında yayınlanan Türkçe Öğretim Programında yer alan; adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlik olmak üzere on kök değer, Kutadgu Bilig’de geçtiği şekliyle araştırmamızın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmamız, doküman inceleme yöntemiyle oluşturulmuş nitel bir çalışmadır. Çalışmamızın sonucunda; Türkçe Öğretim programında bahsi geçen değerlerin Kutadgu Bilig’de, eğitimde kullanılmaya uygun yöntemlerle gayet ayrıntılı olarak ele alındığı tespit edilmiş ve Türkçe dersinde değerleri aktarırken Kutadgu Bilig’den yararlanmanın oldukça doğru ve etkili olacağı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Our lives are going through a rapid transformation process in direct proportion with the changing and developing technology. Preserving the values from the past and transferring them to future generation within all this change and development carry importance to remain “us”. In this respect, we can see that the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education have recently been giving more and more places to values. Moving through texts in Turkish courses in order to teach values would especially ensure that learning will be more permanent and practical. It is also thought that utilizing the books that are left to us by our history would be of benefit on this path. One of the books in question is, without a doubt, Kutadgu Bilig. It is simultaneously a political treatise and a book of behavioral education that brings national and universal values to present ties. As the rhyming prologue states, the book is one that collects all wisdom in Turkish. Myriad values from Kutadgu Bilig are noteworthy. Rules that govern everyday life, how to behave and to whom, what traits one must possess to be happy in both worlds, characteristics of various vocational groups and public groups and how to get along with them are among the many topics that are covered in it. National and universal values from amongst these topics are considered to be quite useful to be used in teaching for they are covered in storylines with dialogues allegorically, include examples of eloquence and are written with the principle of starting simple towards complicated. Published in 2019 by the Ministry of National Education, the Turkish Curriculum includes ten root values such as justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and benevolence, as they are also mentioned in Kutadgu Bilig, which represents the subject of this study. Our study is a qualitative one that utilizes the method of document reviewing. As a result of our study, it is determined that the values that are mentioned in the Turkish Curricula publication are also covered in Kutadgu Bilig with methods that are suitable to be used in education and in substantial detail and it is concluded that using Kutadgu Bilig in Turkishcourses to teach values would be correct and effective.
