Araştırmada, ortaokul 5. sınıf öğrencilerine yönelik Elektronik Görsel Sözlük (e-GS)’ün geliştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, Türkçe ders kitabından seçilen sözcükleri içeren bir görsel sözlüğün tasarlanması, öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşleri doğrultusunda iyileştirilmesine çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacına ulaşmak için, genellikle bir ürün, hizmet ya da sistemin geliştirilmesi için kullanılan ve ilke, kuram ya da eğitim uygulaması şeklinde ürün ortaya koymaya fırsat tanıyan tasarım tabanlı araştırma (TTA) yöntemi temel alınmıştır. Bu araştırmada ürün tasarımı, iyileştirme ve raporlaştırma/değerlendirme şeklinde bir tasarım tabanlı süreç izlenmiştir. Araştırma, Giresun il merkezindeki Aksu Şehit Hakan Gemici Ortaokulu 5. sınıflarında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, tasarım ve iyileştirme aşamasında belirlenen temalara uygun olarak iki kez toplanmıştır. Araştırmada, e-GS ile ilgili öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin görüşleri önemli yer tutmaktadır. Tasarım tabanlı araştırma sürecinde, kullanıcıların (öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin) e-GS’ye ilişkin düşünceleri ve önerileri görüşme formları ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada, Öğretmen Görüşme Formu ve Öğrenci Görüşme Formu ile toplanan veriler ise nitel tekniklerle analiz edilmiştir. e-GS ile ilgili görüşme formlarından elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin e-GS’yi beğendiği ve Türkçe derslerinde kullanılmasını istediği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrenciler sözlüğün diğer konular için de hazırlanmasını istemiştir. Türkçe öğretmenleri öğrencilerle aynı şekilde sözlüğün diğer dersler için de hazırlanmasını istemiştir. Ulaşılan sonuçlar, Elektronik Görsel Sözlük’ün bu hâliyle sözcük öğrenmede etkili bir öğretim teknolojisi olarak kullanılabileceğini göstermektedir.

In the study, it is aimed that develop Electronic Visual Dictionary (e-VD) for secondary school 5th grade students. For this purpose, it is studied that design of a visual dictionary including the words chosen from Turkish course book and improvement according to opinions of student and teacher. In order to reach the aim of the research, it is based on Design-Based Research (D-BR) that gives an opportunity to create a product in form of a principle, a theory or a training application and generally used for the development of a product, service or system. In this study, a design-based process has been followed in form of product design, improvement and reporting/evaluation. The research has been carried out in Aksu Şehit Hakan Gemici Secondary School 5th grades in the city center of Giresun. The datas of the study have been collected twice as appropriate for determined themes in design and improvement stage. In research, student and teacher opinion has an important place about e-VD. During design-based research process, users’ (students and teachers) opinions have been collected about e-VD with interview forms. In this context, it has been prepared two separate semi-structured interview forms with related movements by researcher. In the research, collected datas with Teacher Interview Form and Student Interview Form have been analyzed with qualitative techniques. Achieved datas from interview forms about e-VD has been solved with content analysis. As a result of the research, it has been detected that 5th grade students liked e-VD and wanted to be used in Turkish lessons. Furthermore, students have wanted to be prepared dictionary for other subjects. Turkish teachers have wanted to be prepared dictionary for other lessons likewise students. Results that will be achieved are showed that Electronic Visual Dictionary can be used as an effective teaching technology in teaching with this status.
