Intelligence is a criterion classified according to a person's comprehension, comprehension and learning capacity. It is divided into two groups that affect the intelligence of individuals. The first of these is genetic factors and the second is environmental factors. Studies have been being gone on for many years to measure the concept of intelligence. The first test for intelligence measurement in history was Alfred Binetand Dr. It was built by Simon in 1905. However, the developments in intelligence measurement throughout history have reached different dimensions by exceeding traditional methods. Having proved the concept of intelligence with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Gardner argued that intelligence cannot be based on a single factor by refuting traditional methods with this theory, and also defends the view that the concept of intelligence contains many abilities. With the advent of intelligence measurement tests in the past, the set ests were primarily applied to gifted individuals. Efforts have been made to provide the necessary training to gifted people in line with their abilities. As a result of the census conducted in our country in 2000, it is thought that approximately 519 thousand individuals in the 0-18 age range are gifted individuals. These individuals must be identified forthe education of gifted individuals. After categorizing in which areas these individuals have abilities, their development should be ensured by making the right guidance. In this way, these individuals can lead a quality life within their personal responsibilities and duties by harmonizing with the society. The biggest responsibility falls on the parents and teachers in reintegrating these people into society. Education in social sciences also comes into play at this point and it is thought that the education that gifted people have received within the framework of socialawareness will also affect their academic success. In this study, we aimed to search out the effect of social sciences education on the academic achievement of gifted students by touching on the basis of the concept of intelligence.
