Review of Postgraduate Theses on Science Education in The Field of Special Education in Turkey in Terms of Some Variables


The aim of this research; To examined in terms of various variables postgraduate thesis for science education prepared in special educational field in Turkey. The study examined a total of 37 postgraduate thesis, including 26 masters and 11 doctorates theses in the field of special education in Turkey between 2004 and 2019, with content analysis according to research type, model, subject, number and level of samples, data collection tools type and analysis. When the distribution of the research according to handicap groups is examined according to numerical results; done in the most highly skilled area, it has been observed that most of the quantitative research type was preferred at the master's level and the mixed research type was preferred at the doctoral level. It was concluded that the problems, opinions and applicable methods encountered in science education as the subject of research of the experimental research model were investigated, that the students are studied more with the sampling level, and the groups are in the range of 10-50. When determining that ‘survey’ was used as the data collection tool by postgraduate theses; it was concluded that most of the data analysis methods used content analysis, ANOVA, independent groups t-test, dependent groups t-test and Mann Whitney U test. It may be recommended that future research be carried out on subjects such as visually impaired, hearing impaired, multiple disabilities, physical disabilities, and that different methods are used, taking into account individual differences in the fact that children with special needs are not inadequate in some skills for science and gain skills.
