Öz: Bu çalışma, okul öncesi eğitimlerine devam etmekte olan 60-69 aylık çocukların bilim motivasyonları ile öz düzenleme becerileri arasındaki ilişkinin çeşitli değişkenlere göre incelenmesi ve çocukların bilim motivasyonu düzeyleri ile öz düzenleme becerileri arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmış olup çalışma grubunu Mersin ilinde Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarına devam eden 60-69 aylık toplam 179 çocuk oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada ‘Okul Öncesi Çocuklar için Bilim Motivasyonu Ölçeği’, ‘Öz Düzenleme Becerileri Ölçeği’, ‘Öğretmen Kişisel Bilgi Formu’ ve ‘Ebeveyn Kişisel Bilgi Formu’ olmak üzere dört veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Uygulanan ölçeklerden elde edilen puanların normallik dağılımı Kolmogorov-Smirnov testi ile incelenmiş ve sonuçta verilerin normal dağılmadığı belirlenmiş olup bu sebeple nonparametrik testlerden yararlanılmıştır. Çocukların bilim motivasyon düzeyleri incelendiğinde; ölçeğin özgüven alt boyutunda alınan puanların okul öncesi eğitim alma süresi, anne ve baba öğrenim durumuna göre farklılaştığı görülürken hem özgüven hem de keyif alma alt boyutunda elde edilen puanların çocukların anne ve babalarının mesleklerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı belirlenmiştir.  Çocukların öz düzenleme becerileri incelendiğinde de gerek düzenleme gerekse kontrol alt boyutlarından elde edilen puanların çocukların daha önce okul öncesi eğitimi alma sürelerine, annelerin öğrenim durumuna ve anne-babaların mesleklerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Çocukların bilim motivasyonu ile öz düzenleme becerileri ölçeğinden elde edilen puanlar arasındaki ilişkiler incelendiğinde ölçeklerin alt boyutları arasında düşük ve orta düzeyde pozitif yönlü anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Abstract: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between science motivation and self- regulation skills of 60-69 months old who are continuing their preschool education according to various variables and to determine the relationship between children's science motivation levels and self-regulation skills. The Relational Screening Model was used in the research and the study group consists of a total of 179 children aged 60-69 months who attend pre-school education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Mersin province. Four data collection tools were used in the study: 'Science Motivation Scale for Preschool Children', 'Self-Regulation Skills Scale', 'Teacher Personal Information Form' and 'Parent Personal Information Form'. The normality distribution of the scores obtained from the applied scales was examined with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and as a result, it was determined that the data were not normally distributed, therefore nonparametric tests were used. When children's science motivation levels were examined; it was determined that the scores obtained from the self-confidence sub-dimension of the scale differed according to the duration of preschool education and the education status of the parents, while the scores obtained in both self-confidence and enjoyment sub-dimensions differed significantly according to the professions of the parents of the children. When the self-regulation skills of the children were examined, it was found that the scores obtained from both the regulation and control sub-dimensions differed significantly according to the duration of the children’s pre-school education, the education level of the mothers and the professions of the parents. When the relationships between the scores obtained from the children's science motivation and self-regulation skills scale were examined, it was determined that there were low and medium level positive significant relationships between the sub-dimensions of the scales.
