Çalışmanın amacı ülkelerinden zorunlu olarak Hatay’a göç edip yerleşip burada öğrenim gören ilkokul ve ortaokul düzeyi Suriyeli öğrencilere yönelik eğitim öğretim faaliyetlerinin görevli öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre incelenmesidir. 2011 yılında Suriye’de ortaya çıkan iç karışıklıklar sonucunda Suriyelilerin büyük çoğunluğu ülkelerinden göç etmek zorunda kalmıştır. Suriyelilerin yoğun olarak göç ettikleri ülkelerden biri de Türkiye’dir. Türkiye’nin birçok yerine dağılan Suriyelilerin en yoğun olduğu illerin başında Hatay gelmektedir. Hatay, coğrafi konumu itibariyle Türkiye’nin en güneyinde ve Suriye’ye sınır olarak en yakın iller arasında yer almaktadır. Bu coğrafi yakınlığa ek olarak Suriye ile tarihsel, kültürel, komşuluk ve akrabalık bağı bulunması nedeniyle de Suriyeli nüfusunun diğer illere göre daha yoğun olan bir bölgedir. Bu durum Hatay’ın çalışma sahası olmasında etken olmuştur. Çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Sahada yapılan gözlem ve görüşme teknikleriyle elde edilen veriler doküman analiziyle de desteklenmiştir. Buna göre çalışmada Türkiye’de Suriyeli öğrencilere yönelik uygulanan eğitim politikalarından birinin Suriyeli öğrencilerin Türk eğitim sistemine dahil edildiği; Hatay özelinde bakıldığında bunun birebir uygulandığı; Suriyeli öğrencilerin bulunduğu okullardaki öğretmenlerin birçoğunun konuyla ilgili hizmet içi eğitimler aldığı; alınan eğitimlerin daha çok uygulamaya dönük olması gerektiği; Suriyeli öğrencilerin başta Türkçe öğrenimi olmak üzere birtakım güçlüklerle karşılaştığı; öğretmenlerin ders anlatımlarında farklı yöntem ve tekniklerle görsel materyalleri kullandığı ve bu durumun olumlu yönde etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of the study is to examine the educational activities for Syrian students at primary and secondary school level, who migrated from their country to Hatay and settled and studied there, according to the opinions of the teachers in charge. As a result of the internal turmoil that broke out in Syria in 2011, the vast majority of Syrians had to migrate from their countries. One of the countries where Syrians migrate heavily is Turkey. Hatay is one of the provinces with the highest concentration of Syrians dispersed to many parts of Turkey. Hatay, in terms of its geographical location, is in the south of Turkey and among the provinces closest to Syria as a border. In addition to this geographical proximity, it is a region where the Syrian population is more dense than other provinces due to its historical, cultural, neighborhood and kinship ties with Syria. This situation has been a factor in Hatay being a study area. The case study method, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study. The data obtained through observation and interview techniques in the field were also supported by document analysis. Accordingly, in the study, one of the educational policies implemented for Syrian students in Turkey is that Syrian students are included in the Turkish education system; Considering Hatay in particular, it is applied exactly; Most of the teachers in schools with Syrian students received in-service training on the subject; that the trainings received should be more practical; Syrian students faced some difficulties, especially in learning Turkish; It has been concluded that teachers use visual materials with different methods and techniques in their lectures and this situation has a positive effect.
