Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye’de uzaktan eğitim alanında 2015-2020 yılları arasında yayınlanan lisansüstü tezlerin bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi ile incelenmesi ve uzaktan eğitim araştırmalarının mevcut akademik durumunun ortaya konmasıdır. Bu doğrultuda Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu (YÖK) ulusal tez merkezinde bulunan 138 tez, yayın yılı, türü, yazarın cinsiyeti, gerçekleştirildiği coğrafi bölge, yayınlandığı üniversite, anabilim dalı, kullanılan anahtar kelimeler, araştırma yöntemi, veri toplama aracı, tercih edilen hedef gruplar, örneklem büyüklükleri, sayfa sayısı ve tercih edilen eğitsel alt disiplin açısından incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucuna göre uzaktan eğitim konulu tezler 2015 yılından 2019 yılına kadar artış göstermiş, 2019 yılından sonra ise belirgin bir düşüş yaşamıştır. Çalışmalarda yüksek lisans tez sayısının doktora tez sayısından fazla olduğu ve tezlerde erkek araştırmacı sayısının kadın araştırmacılara oranla daha yoğun olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Genellikle Türkçenin tercih edilen dil olduğu ve en fazla tezin Anadolu, Gazi, Marmara ve Hacettepe Üniversitesinde yayınlandığı tespit edilmiştir. En çok tez yapılan üniversitelerin bulunduğu bölgeler olan İç Anadolu ve Marmara bölgesinin gerçekleştirilen çalışma sayısına göre ilk iki sırayı oluşturduğu görülmüştür. Bunun yanında tezlerin en fazla Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri, Uzaktan Eğitim ve Eğitim Bilimleri Anabilim Dallarının altında gerçekleştirildiği belirlenmiştir. Nicel araştırma metodolojisi kullanımının yoğunlukta olduğu tezlerde, sıklıkla görüşme, anket ve ölçekler yoluyla verilerin toplandığı ortaya konmuştur. Tezlerdeki örneklem kitlesi incelendiğinde yetişkinlerin ön planda olduğu ve yetişkin gruplar içerisinde en fazla lisans öğrencilerinin çalışma grubu olarak kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda uzaktan eğitim alanında karma ve tasarım tabanlı çalışmalar ile doktora düzeyinde çalışmaların sayısının artırılması, araştırmacıların yöntem konusunda becerilerinin artırılması ve sonraki yıllarda çeşitli veri tabanlarında güncel analiz çalışmalarının gerçekleştirilmesi önerilmiştir.

The aim of this research is to examine the graduate theses published in the field of distance education in Turkey between 2015-2020 by bibliometric analysis method and to determine the current academic status of distance education research. 138 thesis in the National thesis center of the Higher Education Institution (YÖK) were examined in terms of year of publication, type, gender of the author, geographical region, University in which it was published, department, keywords used, research method, data collection tool, preferred target groups, sample sizes, number of pages and preferred educational subdiscipline. According to the results of the study, theses on distance education increased from 2015 to 2019 and experienced a significant decline after 2019. Studies have shown that the number of Master's dissertations exceeds the number of doctoral dissertations, and the number of male researchers in dissertations is more intense than female researchers. It has been determined that Turkish is the preferred language and that most theses are published in Anadolu, Gazi, Marmara and Hacettepe University. Central Anatolia and the Marmara region, which are the regions where the most thesis-published universities are located, constitute the first two places according to the number of studies performed. In addition, it was determined that the theses were mostly carried out under the Departments of computer and educational technologies, Distance Education and Educational Sciences. In theses where the use of quantitative research methodology is intensive, it has been found that data is often collected through interviews, surveys and scales. When examining the sample mass in theses, it was determined that adults were at the forefront and that in adult groups they were usually used as a study group of undergraduate students. In line with these results, it was proposed to increase the number of mixed and design-based studies and doctoral-level studies in distance education, to increase the skills of researchers in the method and to carry out current analysis studies in various databases in the following years.
