J. S. Bach viyolonsel süitleri tüm dünyada kabul görmüş solo viyolonsel için yazılmış en önemli eserlerdendir. Bu eserler Barok dönemin polifonik yapıdaki müzikal özellikleri yansıtması ve viyolonsel tekniğinin geliştirilmesine yönelik eğitimcilere ve öğrencilere ışık tutması bakımından viyolonsel eğitiminde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu araştırma, J. S. Bach BWV 1007-1012 solo viyolonsel süitlerinin müzik öğretmeni yetiştiren kurumlarda viyolonsel eğitiminde kullanım durumunu ortaya koymak ve bu süitlerin viyolonsel eğitiminde kaynak olarak kullanımına ilişkin öğretim elemanı ve öğrencilerin görüşlerine yer vermek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda “Müzik öğretmeni yetiştiren kurumlarda viyolonsel eğitiminde J. S. Bach’ın solo viyolonsel süitlerinin yeri, önemi ve kullanımına ilişkin durum ve ilgililerin konuya ilişkin görüşleri nelerdir?” sorusuna yanıt aranmıştır. Araştırmaya veri elde etmek üzere üniversitelerin eğitim fakültelerinin güzel sanatlar eğitimi bölümleri müzik eğitimi anabilim dallarında görev yapmakta olan viyolonsel öğretim elemanları ve öğrencilerin görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Betimsel yöntem kullanılarak elde edilen veriler belirlenen dört alt problem çerçevesinde analiz edilmiş ve tablolar halinde sunulmuştur. Araştırma sonucunda öğretim elemanları ve öğrencilerin tamamının viyolonsel eğitiminde J. S. Bach BWV 1007-1012 solo viyolonsel süitlerine yer verilmesinin önemli ve yararlı olduğu görüşüne katıldıkları, bu eserlerin öğrencilerin teknik ve müzikal gelişimlerine katkı sağladığı ve viyolonsel eğitiminde daha etkin bir şekilde yer verilmesinin yararlı olacağı görüşünde oldukları belirlenmiştir.

J. S. Bach Cello suites are one of the most important pieces that are widely accepted around the world. These suites reflect the Baroque period’s polyphonic-based musical properties and they have an important role in enlightening the teachers and students on developing the cello education. The aim of this research is to determine the role of J. S. Bach BWV 1007-1012 solo cello suites on cello education of music teachers at relevant institutions, and to include the opinions of professors and students on the utilization of cello suites as source on cello education. In this context, searched for an answer to the question “what is the position, importance and use of J. S. Bach's solo cello suites in cello training in music teacher training institutions and what are the views of the interested parties?” In order to collect data for the research, opinions of many cello education professors and students from music education departments of various universities have been consulted. The data obtained by using descriptive method were analyzed in the frame of four sub- problems indicates that all of the professors and students agree on the importance and benefits of including J. S. Bach BWV 1007-1012 solo cello suites as a part of cello education and to include these suites more effectively.
