Etkili eğitim, öğrenciye kazandırılmak istenen davranışların öğrencilerin seviyeleri gön önüne alınıp uygun yöntemlerin bulunması ve uygulanması ile gerçekleşebilmektedir. Bu kapsamda öğrenci merkezli etkinliklerle daha verimli ve etkili çalışmaların gerçekleşebileceği müzik eğitiminde öğretmenin rolü büyük önem taşımakta; öğretmenin bu etkinliklerde müzik eğitiminin öğrencinin kişisel, sosyal ve duygusal gelişimleri üzerindeki olumlu etkilerini değerlendirerek planlaması önemli görülmektedir. Bu araştırma ile ortaokulda görev yapan müzik öğretmenlerinin etkili müzik eğitimine ilişkin görüşlerini ve buna yönelik çalışmalarının ne düzeyde olduğunu tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda etkili eğitim için iyi hazırlanmış bir ders planının, derste kullanılacak yöntem-tekniklerin ve değerlendirme kriterlerinin belirlenmesinin ve öğrenciye geri bildirimin yapılmasının gerekli olduğu; ders kitabı içeriklerinin, derste kullanılacak materyallerin, dersin yapısına uygun fiziki koşulların oluşturulmasının, gerçekleştirilecek ders dışı etkinliklerin ve öğrenci bireysel farklılıklarının da eğitimin etkililiğini arttıran diğer faktörler arasında olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte müzik öğretmenlerinin etkili bir müzik eğitimi için derslerini etkin bir şekilde planladıklarını düşündükleri; dersi planlama ve etkinlikleri düzenlemede sınıf seviyesinin, sınıfın başarı düzeyinin, ortak zümre kararlarının, fiziki koşulların, öğrenci katılımının ve öğrencinin öğrenme gereksiniminin müzik öğretmenleri için dersi planlama ve etkinlikleri düzenlemede önemli faktörler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca müzik dersinde kullanılan materyallerin dersin etkililiğini büyük oranda arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte müzik öğretmenleri ders kitaplarının içeriklerinin yetersiz olduğunu ve öğrenci seviyesine-ilgisine uygun olmadığını, ders süresinin etkili bir eğitimin gereklerini yerine getirmek için yeterli olmadığını düşündükleri belirlenmiştir.

Effective education can be realized by taking into account the behaviors that are intended to be gained by the students and level of the students and by finding and implementing appropriate methods accordingly. In this context, the role of the teacher in the music education is very important, in which student-centered activities can be carried out more efficiently and effectively. It is considered important for the teacher to plan and evaluate the positive effects of music education on students' personal, social and emotional development. With this research, it is aimed to determine the opinions of music teachers working in secondary school on effective music education and to what extent they work towards this. As a result of the study, it was determined that a well-prepared lesson plan, determination of the method-techniques and evaluation criteria to be used in the course and feedback are essential for effective education. As a result of the research, it was also determined that the contents of the textbook, the materials to be used in the course, the physical conditions appropriate to the structure of the course, the extra-curricular activities and the individual differences of the students are among the other factors that increase the effectiveness of the education. In addition to this, it was determined that music teachers thought that they planned their lessons effectively for effective music education. Also class level, class success level, common criterion decisions, physical conditions, student participation and student learning needs were important factors in organizing lesson planning and activities for music teachers. In addition, it was found that the materials used in the music course increase the effectiveness of the course significantly. However, the music teachers found that the content of the textbooks was insufficient and that they were not suitable for the student education, and that the duration of the course was not sufficient to fulfill the requirements of effective education.
