Türkiye'de Covid-19 Pandemisinin İşletmelerde Kriz Yönetimi Üzerine Etkileri: 2020 Yılı Araştırmaları Üzerinden Bir Değerlendirme

2021 yılı ilk çeyreğinde halen etkileri devam etmekte olan Covid-19 pandemisi, dünyadaki işletmelerin daha önce eşine az rastladığı ölçekte beklenmedik bir kriz olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışmada, bu pandeminin neden bir kriz olarak tanımlanabileceği gerçeğinden hareketle kriz kavramı, kapsamı ve pandeminin işletmeler için oluşturduğu tehditler ve riskler, mevcut saha araştırmalarının verileri üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, işletme literatüründe Covid-19 krizi ile ilgili gelecek çalışmalara ışık tutulmasıdır. Tanımlayıcı nitelikteki bu çalışmada “nasıl, ne, ne zaman ve nerede” gibi sorularla küresel ölçekteki bu krizin Türkiye’deki işletmeler bağlamında mevcut durumunun ne olduğu sorgulanmıştır. Bireysel araştırmacıların, veri toplamadaki kısıtları açısından, kurum ve kuruluşlar tarafından üretilen ikincil kaynaklardan istifade edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, Türk işletmeleri ve Covid-19 krizine yönelik son araştırmaların bulgularının, krizin iş dünyasının tüm yönleri üzerindeki etkisini ele almada yetersiz kaldığı görülmektedir. Bu anlamda bu araştırma, üretim ve tedarik yönetimi, finansal yönetim, insan kaynakları yönetimi, teknoloji yönetimi, kriz yönetimi ve işletmelerin krizle ilişkisi dâhil olmak üzere Türk iş dünyasındaki bölgesel ve sektörel farklılıklar temelinde boşluğu doldurmayı amaçlamaktadır. Sonuç olarak bulgular birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, Covid-19 krizinin özellikle Türkiye'deki işletmeler üzerindeki olumsuz etkileri dikkat çekmektedir. Diğer taraftan, kriz  “işletmelerin mevcut ve gelecek planlarını revize etmesi, teknolojik araç ve ekipmanların uyarlanması ve yeni iş modellerinin oluşturulması” ihtiyaçlarını yeniden gündeme getirmiştir.   Ancak, krizin tüm boyutları ve etkilerini değerlendirebilmek için işletmelerle ilgili saha araştırmalarının çeşitlendirilmesi gerekmektedir. Böylece, Türk işletmelerinin Covid-19 krizini nasıl yönettiğine ve kriz yönetimi yeteneklerine ilişkin bir profil veya envanter oluşturulması mümkün olabilir.

The Covid-19 pandemic, whose effects are still ongoing in the first quarter of 2021, can be defined as an unexpected crisis on a scale that businesses around the world rarely encountered before. In this study, based on the fact that this pandemic can be defined as a crisis, the concept of crisis, its scope, and the threats and risks posed by the pandemic to businesses are evaluated through the data of existing field studies. The aim of this study is to shed light over future studies on the Covid-19 crisis in the business literature. In this exploratory study "how, what, when and where" of this crisis on a global scale in the business context with questions like what is the current situation in Turkey has been questioned. In this context, the findings of recent research on the Turkish businesses and Covid-19 crisis appear to be insufficient to address the impact of the crisis on all aspects of the business world. In that sense, this research seeks to fill the void on the basis of the regional&sectoral differences in the Turkish national business world including manufacturing&supply management, financial management, human resource management, technology management, crisis management and the relationship of businesses with the crisis. Consequently, when the research findings together, especially the Covid-19 attack noteworthy negative impact on Turkey’s businesses. On the other hand, the crisis has brought the needs of businesses to revise their current and future plans, to adapt technological tools and equipment, and to create new business models. However, in order to evaluate all dimensions and effects of the crisis, field studies related to businesses should be diversified. Thus, it may be possible to create a profile or inventory of how Turkish businesses have managed the Covid-19 crisis including the capability of their crisis management.
