Üniversitelerde kurumsal yönetim, kalite güvencesinin sağlanması, şeffaflık, verimlilik ve sürdürülebilirlik gibi unsurları içermekte; bu nedenle kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının etkin bir şekilde hayata geçirilmesi, üniversitelerin başarısı açısından önem arz etmektedir. İyi yapılandırılmış bir kurumsal yönetim, üniversitelerin eğitim kalitesinin artırılması, öğrencilerin ihtiyaçlarına yönelik hizmetlerin etkin bir şekilde sunulması ve sosyo-kültürel gelişimlerinin desteklenmesi konularında önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, etkili kurumsal yöneticilik uygulamalarının benimsenmesi, tüm paydaşların yararına olacak şekilde üniversite eğitimini güçlendiren temel bir unsur olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışma İstanbul’daki vakıf üniversitelerinin İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültelerinde (İİBF) ve Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü (SBE) İşletme Anabilim dalında yüksek lisans ve doktora seviyesinde eğitim gören Türk ve yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerin, üniversitelere yönelik kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarına ilişkin algılarını tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Veriler, İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren iki vakıf üniversitesi öğrencilerine yöneltilen anket soruları aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler fakültelerinde ve sosyal bilimler enstitüsü işletme anabilim dalında yüksek lisans ve doktora seviyesinde eğitim gören Türk ve yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerden toplanan 379 analize elverişli anket verisi ANOVA analizine tabi tutulmuştur. İlgili anketin uygulanabilirliğini sağlamak için İstanbul Gedik Üniversitesi etik kurulunun 30.10.2024 tarihli 2024/10 sayılı toplantısında etik kurul izni alınmıştır. Analiz sonuçları öğrencilerin kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarına ilişkin algılarının öğrenim gördükleri bölüme ve sınıf düzeyine göre farklılık gösterdiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin, kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarındaki iç kontrol ve bilgi teknolojisine ilişkin algılarının T.C. vatandaşı olup olmama durumuna göre farklılık gösterdiği ancak yönetim kurulu, risk yönetimi, iç denetim ve stratejik insan kaynaklarına ilişkin algılarının farklılık göstermediği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Corporate governance in universities encompasses elements such as quality assurance, transparency, efficiency, and sustainability. Therefore, the effective implementation of corporate governance practices is crucial for the success of higher education institutions. A well-structured corporate governance system plays a significant role in enhancing the quality of education, delivering services effectively that meet students' needs, and supporting their socio-cultural development. In this context, the adoption of effective corporate governance practices emerges as a fundamental element that strengthens university education for the benefit of all stakeholders. This study aims to identify the perceptions of Turkish and international graduate and doctoral students enrolled in the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) and the Departments of Business Administration within the Institutes of Social Sciences (ISS) at foundation universities in Istanbul regarding corporate governance practices in universities. Data were collected through survey questions directed to students at two foundation universities operating in Istanbul. A total of 379 usable survey responses were obtained from Turkish and international students pursuing graduate and doctoral education in the specified departments and were analyzed using ANOVA. To ensure the ethical validity of the survey, ethical approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee of Istanbul Gedik University in the meeting dated 30.10.2024, numbered 2024/10. The results of the analysis revealed that students’ perceptions of corporate governance practices differed based on their department and level of study. Furthermore, it was concluded that perceptions regarding internal control and information technology varied depending on whether students were citizens of the Republic of Turkey, while perceptions related to the board of directors, risk management, internal audit, and strategic human resources did not differ significantly.
