Adalet insanlık tarihinde birçok alanda ele alınmış John Rawls'un sosyal adalet kavramı ile yeni bir yere ulaşmıştır. Bu kavram üretimin ve maddiyatın topluma yayılması ve fırsat eşitliği sağlanmasında toplumsal olarak adaletsizliğin engellenmesi ve sosyal sınıflar arasındaki farkı en aza indirme çabası taşır. David Harvey ise sosyal adaleti sosyalist proje yoluyla kapitalist değerlerin daha derine işlemesi olarak görmektedir.19. Yüzyılın önemli kavramı olan sosyal adaletin ortaya çıktığı dönemde mahalli müşterek ihtiyaçların karşılanması üzerine olan belediyeler de sosyal adalet temelli eğitim, sağlık, sanat ve sosyal yardım projeleri geliştirmesine yönelik bir anlayış ile değişim geçirmiş ve sosyal belediyecilik ortaya çıkmıştır.
Bu çalışmada John Rawls ve David Harvey'in sosyal adalet anlayışları sosyal belediyecilik uygulamaları üzerinden teorik karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek üzere karşılaştırmalı analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Böylece sosyal adalet kavramı üzerinden sosyal belediyecilik analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın teorik çerçeveci oluşturulurken yerli ve yabancı kaynaklardan elde edilen veriler belgesel tarama modelinden faydalanılarak kullanılmıştır.
Justice has been discussed in many areas throughout human history and has reached a new place with John Rawls' concept of social justice. This concept aims to prevent social injustice and minimize the difference between social classes in spreading production and material goods to society and ensuring equality of opportunity. David Harvey, on the other hand, sees social justice as the deeper penetration of capitalist values through the socialist project.19. In the period when social justice, which is the important concept of the century, emerged, municipalities, which were focused on meeting local common needs, also changed with an understanding of developing social justice-based education, health, art and social aid projects, and social municipalism emerged.
In this study, it is aimed to theoretically compare the understandings of social justice of John Rawls and David Harvey through their social municipal practices. To achieve this aim, the comparative analysis method was used. Thus, social municipalism was analyzed through the concept of social justice. While creating the theoretical framework of the study, data obtained from domestic and foreign sources were used by utilizing the documentary screening model.
