Epik anlatıları konu edinen ütopyalar, insanlık tarihi boyunca takip edilebilir. İnsanların sonsuz istekleri, arzuları ve alternatif düzen arayışı bu düşünsel perspektifin izlerini taşır. Böylece insanlık, başka bir uzamda da olsa, içerisinde bulunulan dönemin sosyo-ekonomik, kültürel ve siyasal buhranlarına çözüm getirecek imkânları gündeminde tutar. Nitekim 16. yüzyıldan itibaren geleneksel bir yazın türü haline gelen ütopyalar, insan-zaman-mekân arasında dolaşan, geçmiş-günümüz-gelecek projeksiyonlarını içerisinde barındıran geniş, derin ve zengin bir anlam bütünlüğüne sahiptir. Olumlu veya olumsuz düşünsel tasarımların her birinde coğrafi açıdan değerlendirilebilecek mekânsal tasvirlerin ütopyalarda mutlak bir bilgi olarak yer aldığı gözlemlenir. Zira coğrafi alan, mekânsal kurgunun betimlenmesini mümkün hale getirecek kadar geniştir. Türk düşün tarihinde ismi Akdeniz kimliği ve Mavi Anadoluculuk tartışmalarıyla özdeşleştirilen Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı’nın deniz temalı eserleri bu konteksti ortaya koyması bakımından son derece dikkate değer bir içeriğe sahiptir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, ütopya-mekân ilişkisinden hareketle Kabaağaçlı’nın Aganta Burina Burinata isimli romanında mekânsal kurgunun taşıyıcılığını yaptığı ideolojik ve temsilî anlamlar tartışmaya açılacaktır. Çalışma üç bölüm ekseninde kurgulanmıştır. İlk bölüm ütopya kavramının klasik ve modern dönemde ifade ettiği anlamların açıklandığı ve kullanılan mekanların ele alındığı bölümdür. İkinci bölümde Türk edebiyatında ütopya kavramının gelişmesine yardımcı olan ilk eserlerden başlayarak ütopya türünün kapsadığı mahiyet incelenmiş ve Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı’nın eserlerine projeksiyon tutulmuştur. Üçüncü bölümde ise Aganta Burina Burinata’da iki zıt mekan üzerinden yapılan kişilik tasvirleri değerlendirilerek bir ütopik mekân olarak deniz ele alınmıştır.

Utopias, which are the subject of epic narratives, can be traced throughout human history. People's endless wishes, desires and search for an alternative order bear the traces of this intellectual perspective. Thus, humanity, albeit in another space, keeps on its agenda the possibilities that will bring solutions to the socio-economic, cultural and political crises of the current period. As a matter of fact, utopias, which have become a traditional literary genre since the 16th century, have a wide, deep and rich integrity of meaning that circulates between human time-space and includes past-present-future projections. It is observed that spatial depictions, which can be evaluated geographically in each of the positive or negative intellectual designs, take place as absolute information in utopias. This is because the geographical area is large enough to make it possible to describe the spatial fiction. The sea-themed works of Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı, whose name is identified with the debates on Mediterranean identity and Blue Anatolianism in the history of Turkish thought, have a remarkable content in terms of revealing this context. In this context, this study will discuss the ideological and representational meanings carried by spatial fiction in Kabaağaçaçlı's novel Aganta Burina Burinata based on the relationship between utopia and space. In this context, the study consists of three parts. The first part is the part where the meanings of the concept of utopia in the classical and modern period are explained and the places used are discussed. In the second part, starting from the first works that helped the development of the concept of utopia in Turkish Literature, the place of this genre in our literature will be examined and Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı's works will be discussed. In the third part, the sea as a utopian space will be analysed by evaluating the depiction of personality through two contrasting spaces in Aganta Burina Burinata.
