Housing Price Index in Turkey with The Investigation of Selected Causality Between Variables Are: Example of Eastern Region


The world population is increasing day by day and with this increase, the need for housing is increasing day by day. The housing sector, which has an important contribution to the development of the economy especially in developing countries, has a great importance as an employment area. Turkey is divided into 26 regions with the lower level of classification istasti. It is important to make economic analyzes of the regions in question and to formulate policies in this direction. It is possible that the recent increases in housing prices in various regions may affect the regional inflation values. In this study, Turkey Housing Price Index (TKF) and the Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt TRA1 occurring in the province of Kars, Ardahan, Agri, Igdir including the provincial TRA2, Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl, Tunceli TRB1 occurring in the province, Van, Mus, Bitlis, The causality relationship between the housing price indices of TRB2, level regions of Hakkari provinces and the variables of industrial production index (CI), consumer price index (TFE) and consumer confidence index (TDI) were investigated. As a result, the relationship between the housing price index and the determined variables is similar to other studies using linear econometric methods used as similar dependent and independent variables, and the findings obtained are similar to other studies in the literature, but when considered for different regions, housing price index and industrial production index, consumer It is concluded that there is a positive long-term relationship between the price index and consumer confidence index.
