İstihdam günümüz dünyasında çözülmesi gereken önemli bir olgudur. Sadece gelişmekte olan ülkelerin problemi olmamakla birlikte gelişmiş ülkelerin de sorunudur. Kadın istihdamı sadece ekonomik olarak değil aynı zamanda toplumsal bir sorun olduğu için çözülmesi gereken bir konudur. Dünya nüfusunun yarısından fazlasını kadınlar oluşturmasına karşın toplam istihdamdan yeterli payı alamadığı görülmektedir. İstihdamda ortaya çıkan olumlu gelişmeler ekonomik ve sosyal gelişmenin önemli bir işareti olmaktadır. Aynı şekilde toplumsal gelişme için de kadın istihdam oranlarındaki artış dikkatle takip edilmelidir. Ekonomik krizler nedenleri ve sonuçları ile birlikte kadın istihdamı üzerinde olumlu ya da olumsuz etkileri bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ekonomik krizlerin kadın istihdamı üzerindeki etkilerini nitel bir araştırma ile incelemektir. Ayrıca ekonomik kriz dönemlerinde özellikle kadınları çalışmaya iten sebeplerin araştırılması, çalışma koşullarının belirlenmesi, iş hayatına atılırken ve çalışma yaşamı içinde yaşadıkları problemler ve engellerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ekonomik kriz ile kadın istihdamı konularında nicel araştırmaların fazlalılığı karşısında nitel çalışmaların kısıtlı kalması bu çalışmanın farklılığını ortaya koyması açısından önemlidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak kadınların kendi görüşleri doğrultusunda ekonomik krizlerin kadın istihdamı üzerindeki etkileri çeşitli alt başlıklar halinde incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada ekonomik krizler ile kadın istihdamı arasındaki ilişkiler açısından literatür taraması yapılmış ve sonrasında çalışmanın örneklemi olan Bilecik ilinde özel sektörde çalışan 30 katılımcı kadınla yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat yöntemi ile görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Mülakatlar sonucunda kadın katılımcıların gözünden değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Son olarak da çalışmayla ilgili değerlendirme yapılıp sonuçlandırılmıştır.

Employment problem is one of the most important issues in both developed and developing counties all over the world. Women employment is an issue that needs to be solved, not only economically, but also because it is a social problem. Although women make up more than half of the world's population, they do not get a sufficient share of total employment. Positive developments occur in the employment are an important sign of economic and social development. In the same way, the increase in female employment rates should be carefully followed for social development. Economic crises have positive and negative effects on women employment associated with their reasons and results. The aim of this study is finding out the meanings of economic crisis and women employment concepts through women’s perspectives and the relationships between these concepts with a qualitative study. In addition, it is aimed to investigate the reasons that push women to work, especially in the economic crisis periods, to determine working conditions, to determine the problems and obstacles they experience while they are getting a job and in the working life. There are a lot of quantitative researches about the relationship between the economic crises and the women employment. It is important that this study will make a difference in the limited qualitative research literature. The effects of economic crises on women employment in the line with women’s own views, were examined in various subtitles using the qualitative research method. In this study, a literature review was made in terms of the relationship between economic crises and women employment. Then interviews were conducted using the semi-structured interview method 30 women participants, working in the private sector in Bilecik province. As a result of the interviews, evaluations were determined from perspectives of women participant. Finally, the evaluation of the study was made and concluded.
