Bu çalışma, orman ürünleri ve mobilya sektörlerinde sürdürülebilirlik performansının değerlendirilmesi üzerine odaklanmıştır. Sürdürülebilirlik, günümüzde iş dünyasında giderek artan bir öneme sahiptir ve bu sektörlerdeki işletmeler için de kritik bir konudur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bu sektörlerdeki işletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik performanslarını analiz etmek ve hangi alanlarda güçlü olduklarını, hangi alanlarda ise gelişme gerektirdiklerini belirlemektir. Çalışma, Kamu Aydınlatma Platformu'nda yer alan şirketlerin sürdürülebilirlik raporlarını inceleyerek altı ana kriter belirlemiştir: ödül/teşvik, geri dönüşüm, dijital dönüşüm, personel eğitimi, paydaş işbirliği ve atık yönetimi. Bu kriterler, işletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik konusundaki performanslarını objektif bir şekilde değerlendirmeyi amaçlamıştır. Analiz sonucunda, işletmelerin farklı düzeylerde sürdürülebilirlik uygulamalarını benimsedikleri gözlemlenmiştir. Bazıları özellikle geri dönüşüm ve atık yönetimi gibi çevresel faktörlere odaklanmış ve bu alanda olumlu adımlar atmıştır. Ancak diğer alanlarda daha fazla çaba harcanması gerektiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Özellikle sürdürülebilirlik konusunda başarılı olan işletmeler, çevresel etkileri azaltmak, toplumsal sorumluluklarını yerine getirmek ve ekonomik karlılıklarını sürdürmek adına tedarik zinciri süreçlerini çevresel, ekonomik ve sosyal sürdürülebilirlik ilkelerine dayalı olarak planlamalı ve uygulamalı denetlemelidirler. Bu, sektördeki işletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik konusunda daha fazla farkındalık ve sorumluluk geliştirmelerine yardımcı olacaktır. Sonuç olarak, orman ürünleri ve mobilya sektörleri, sürdürülebilirlik açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu sektörlerdeki işletmelerin çevresel etkileri azaltmak, kaynakları daha sürdürülebilir bir şekilde kullanmak ve toplumsal sorumluluklarını yerine getirmek adına daha fazla çaba sarf etmeleri gerekmektedir. Bu çalışma, bu sektörlerdeki işletmelerin sürdürülebilirlik performanslarını değerlendirmek ve iyileştirmek adına yol gösterici bir nitelik taşımaktadır.

This study focuses on evaluating the sustainability performance within the forest products and furniture sectors. Sustainability has increasingly gained significance in the business landscape today, holding critical importance for enterprises within these sectors. The objective of this research is to analyze the sustainability performances of businesses in these fields, determining their strengths and areas needing improvement. The study examined sustainability reports of companies listed on the KAP, identifying six key criteria: rewards/incentives, recycling, digital transformation, employee training, stakeholder collaboration, and waste management. These criteria aimed to objectively evaluate the businesses' sustainability performances. The analysis revealed that companies have adopted varying levels of sustainability practices. Some have particularly emphasized environmental factors like recycling and waste management, showcasing positive strides in these areas. However, there is a need for greater efforts in other aspects. Enterprises successful in sustainability have been urged to plan, implement, and monitor their supply chain processes based on environmental, economic, and social sustainability principles to reduce environmental impact, fulfill societal responsibilities, and sustain economic viability. This approach could aid businesses in these sectors to enhance their awareness and accountability regarding sustainability. Ultimately, the forest products and furniture industries hold substantial significance in sustainability. It is essential for businesses within these sectors to intensify efforts in reducing environmental impacts, utilizing resources more sustainably, and fulfilling societal responsibilities. This study serves as a guiding tool to evaluate and enhance the sustainability performances of businesses within these industries.
