THE MEDIATOR ROLE OF GUILT IN WORKING IN A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS AND LIFE SATISFACTION OF WORKING MOTHERS


This study is a descriptive study aiming revealing the relationship between personality traits of working mothers, their guilt about the study and life satisfaction. The sample of the study was 521 working mothers. In the study, Eysenck Personality Inventory short form, Study Guilt Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Personal Information Form has been used as data collection tools. Araştırmacı tarafından tasarlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formunu kullanarak evlilik süresi, çocuk sayısı ve çalışan annelerin algılanan gelir düzeyine ilişkin veriler elde edilmiştir. 542 çalışan anneden elde edilen veriler SPSS programında analize hazırlandı ve 521 çalışan annenin sonuçları analize dahil edilmiştir.Correlation and regression analysis have been performed by using the SPSS plug-in (extension) Process macro software. When the indirect effect of guilt has examined; It is found that guilt variable has a meaningful mediation role in the relationship between externality and life satisfaction. When the results of the analysis of the mediating role of the guilt variable related to working in the relationship between neuroticism personality trait and life satisfaction; neuroticism positively predicts guilt; guilt predicts life satisfaction negatively; and neurotism negatively predicts life satisfaction. In this context, when the indirect effect of guilt was examined, it has been found that guilt variable has a meaningful mediating role in the relationship between neurotism and life satisfaction. The findings of the research were discussed together with the related literature. The results were given and recommendations were written.
