Although Bolu is a very old city, the history of civilization has gained its present shape especially after two major natural disasters (Earthquake) in 1999, and almost all of the Human and Economic Geography conditions of the province have changed in a short time. This change and the transformation in Bolu has occured very few provinces in Turkey. The population of Bolu has decreased considerably compared to the past and in some districts the population has decreased more rapidly. In this study, the population change in Bolu during the history of the Republic and the structural features of the population according to the new administrative division that emerged after the separation of Düzce after 1999 were discussed in the focus of Population Geography. In this context, the change of population, rural – city populations, population densities, structural characteristics of the population (Gender, age structure, literacy status), distribution of population across the province and population mobility were examined. In addition, the factors affecting the structure, distribution and mobility of the population in the province have been examined and inferences have been made about the things to be done.
