MANAGER PERCEPTION SCALE: THE STUDY OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY

The purpose of this research is to develop the Manager Perception Scale and to examine its reliability and validity values. Burnout syndrome is an important problem for various occupations. This is a descriptive study which is a screening model. The stages of developing a scale can be listed as follows. Create items, consult expert opinion, pre- test, validity study, factor analysis and reliability calculation. The study was conducted on a total of 340 individuals, 171 of whom were females and 169 of them males. Occupational Burnout Scale 1 has a 5-point Likert-type rating of ”never” and 5 “always”. Corrected item total correlation coefficients were calculated for item analysis of the scale. The construct validity of the scale was explored by exploratory factor analysis and its reliability was examined with Cronbach alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient. Validity and reliability analyzes were performed with SPSS 25 package program. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis applied for the construct validity of the Occupational Burnout Scale, a one-dimensional and 22-item measurement tool was obtained, explaining 32.24% of the total variance and having an eigenvalue of 7.09. The KMO sample suitability coefficient of the scale was found to be .90. Factor loads of the scale ranged between .41 and .72. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that the goodness of fit indices of the model were acceptable. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency reliability coefficient was .89. Corrected item total correlation coefficients of the scale ranged between .37 and .67. These results show that the Occupational Burnout Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
