DETERMINATION OF HEALTH LITERACY LEVELS OF THE FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Training to be given to students With Use of unnecessary health services will be blocked. This study aims to determine the health literacy levels of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences. In the study, quantitative research design and easy sampling method were used. The Cronbach alpha value of the study was found to be 925. Health literacy scale developed by Sorenson et al. (2013) and reduced to 25 items by Toçi et al. (2013) was used in the study. The Turkish validity and reliability study of the scale was conducted by Aras and Bayık Temel (2017).Health management, nurse, nutrition and dietetics, child development and social service students of Selçuk University, Faculty of health Sciences were included in the study. The population of the study consists of 3500 people and the sample is 403 people. According to the findings obtained from the research, there was no significant difference between the levels of health literacy according to the gender of the students, and the significant difference was found between departments of students and health literacy. The students who participated in the study found a significantly lower positive relationship between health and health literacy. According to results obtained from the study Health management and nutrition dietetic students ' health literacy level is higher than the social service and nursing department students. Also, as the overall health of individuals improves, the level of health literacy is increasing.
