A RESEARCH ON THE EFFECT OF PERSONALITY TRAITS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY CONSCIOUSNESS TO SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHARACTERISTICS


In recent years, with the rapid changes in globalization, information and communication technologies and the increasing complexity of economic and social problems caused by intense competition, social entrepreneurship approach has gained importance as an academic research area and an active area of application. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of personality traits and social responsibility on the social entrepreneurship characteristics of an individual who determine their intention to become a social entrepreneur. For this purpose, a qualitative research was designed and a research was conducted on 692 students studying at Gaziantep University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences as well as at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Kilis 7 Aralik University. The data obtained from the study were analyzed with statistical techniques such as factor analysis, correlation and regression analysis. The findings of the study displayed that the personality traits/dimensions such as extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness to experience, along with individual responsibility and social responsibility characteristics/dimensions of social responsibility consciousness have significant effects on social entrepreneurship characteristics/dimensions.
