“BIASED OBJECTIVITY” CONCEPT IN FOX TV PRIME-TIME NEWS WITH FATİH PORTAKAL AT THE CORE OF “MEDIA PSYCHOLOGY”

The media determines the focal points of the process it creates and form with its own internal dynamics during the news flow. In this process, it is aimed to raise or direct the level of perception of the audience or reader. These two poles also define the road map of the media: The mainstream media is generally composed of broadcasters which try to establish a certain balance between power and opposition. This balance, in extraordinary periods, usually begins to operate in favor of governments. Media psychology is the magnifying glass on / within a fictional life that redefines the truth, constructing visible or invisible walls between the publisher and the receiver (audience / reader), covering all these processes. In this study, Fox TV Prime-Time News with Fatih Portakal, which has a different style in mainstream media, has been discussed in the concept of biased objectivity. So, in this study, the 3-day main news bulletin between January 28 and January 30 was examined within the framework of Teun van Dijk’s critical discourse analysis model. In the study, concepts such as aggressive journalism and opposition journalism were also discussed in Fox TV Prime-Time News.
