ASSESSMENT OF ACADEMICIANS BURNOUT LEVELS IN TERMS OF DIFFERENT VARIABLES (GRAPHIC DESIGN DEPARTMENT SAMPLE)


In Turkey, academicians who provide education at the level of higher education are in different conditions with regard to working situations. In addition, academicians working in the field of education who need to adapt themselves to the changing world. However, the burnout situation they feel for various reasons during their work can reduce the efficiency of their work and prevent to reach targeted achievements. In this study, the burnout levels of academicians in graphic design department at higher education system in Turkey were examined through prepared scales. The scale used in this study was developed by Prof.Dr. SONGÜL TÜMKAYA. Scale consists of 4 subgroups. These subgroups are 'Emotional Weakness', 'Administrative Support', 'Academic Performance' and 'Work Load'. The universe of the study is all academicians who carry out graphic design education and training activities in Turkey at the higher education. No sample selection was made for the questionnaire application. The questionnaire was applied to the whole universe because universe is small. Survey data were collected via e-mail and face to face interviews. After the obtained data separating to subgroups, the obtained data were analyzed by using various methods (Chi-square and correlation) in the SPSS statistical package program.
