Digital games have also developed in this process and have become the most important entertainment tool especially for young people. In the developing and changing world over time; with the effect of technology individualization has increased and the individual who is alone in the society has started to show signs of narcissism. At this point, people with a tendency to narcissism; as they had full control over their self- introduction, they began to prefer shallow online communities. Digital games also offer environments where individuals can reflect narcissism personality traits. These environments have spread rapidly with the advances in technology and have influenced large masses. Especially the fact that the internet is easily accessible is effective in turning individuals towards digital games. The number of digital games played in Turkey and the world and spent time in such games is increasing day by day. Even playing digital games has become addictive for many users. According to the International Classification of Diseases guide, updated by the World Health Organization in 2018, digital gaming addiction was included under the title of "mental illness". Due to the growing awareness of digital gaming addiction, research has also shifted to this direction. In this study; the relationship between individuals with narcissism personality disorder symptoms and digital game addiction was investigated. Data for the research were obtained through face-to- face interviews from 401 participants. As a result of the study, it was seenthat as the narcissism level of the participants increased, there was an increase in digital game addiction. },author={Emrah ARĞIN},year={2019},journal={Turkish Studies-Information Technologies and Applied Sciences}}
