The Poetic Objection of Necip Fazil Against the Mission and Practice of Turkish Modernization

Necip Fazıl poetry, which is one of the main determinants of the poem, loneliness, death and the image of the ordeal, poetically, can be defined as the psychosis created by the poet against the process of modernization. With the transition of the Turkish literature to the westernization phase with the Tanzimat and the increasing and widening Europeanization policy with the single-party practices of the Republican period, it influenced the many writers and poets of the period, but also paved the way for the formation of the approachable and reactive group against this effect. Necip Fazıl's mental transformation after meeting Abdülhakîm Arvâsî is the main reason for the objection to Turkish Westernization and single-party practices on literary and political grounds. Kısakürek's intellectual reaction to fevral acts leads to the formation of the image of fear. Because what modernized life has to do is defeat the traditional and cultural defeat and destruction under the new concept; Necip Fazıl, who uses this disorder frequently in his poems and literary writings, in his poetic discourse against it; The ordeal finds itself as melancholic, gloomy, and with the word headings that make the feeling of death dominant, which means the metaphysical mood of the poet against the strengthening of the ethos in the positivist and materialist orbit. In this article, we will focus on the psychosis of Necip Fazıl against modernization, showing conservative resistance to materialist and positivist literature created with the motive of Europeanization.
