The purpose of this study is; to evaluate the change in social life during the Single-Party period throughout the country and especially in Konya. In order to reach this goal, a local newspaper, Ekekon, which was broadcasting at that time, the national newspapers Cumhuriyet, Milliyet and Ulus, the Archives of the Prime Ministry and the related studies in this field was used. With the establishment of a new administration after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, not only the way of governing has changed but Turkish society has entered into a completely new process of impersonation. While some important innovations made during the first years of the Republic were more concerned about being national, the developments in the following years rapidly removed the Turkish society from nationality and the concept of modernization was accepted as Westernization. As the Republican elites turned this perception into an ideology, in the Turkish society, which has a traditionalist structure, most of its population has been strayed, and the gap between the aristocracy and the other people has increased. The practices put forward had a secular-centered character which was never indispensable throughout the modernization process. Therefore, the idea of embedding the national, holy values and deep-rooted tradition in a new way for a Turkish society in the process of modernization has been made as a principle for the whole period of the National Chief administration while being gradually structured in the time of Atatürk. This accepted principle has been considerably influential in the wiping of the decreasing favor of time in the majority of society. Particularly in the Single-Party period of İsmet İnönü’s administration, the Greco-Roman culture pattern, which was seen in accordance with the Turkish society, caused a reaction that was underestimated in the traditional society, and that this reaction, along with the belief that the material problems of the society would be solved, as well as the gap in the spiritual sphere has prepared a ground that would be filled with a new power (Democrat Party). Modernization, which has become more definite in the last century of the Ottoman Empire and has been manifested itself in the Republican period, has become a concept identified with Westernization. This perception was a reason for Turkish society to fall into a stalemate between East and West cultures and not to save itself from these contradictions. As a result of the study; In the transformation of social life in Konya, the process between 1935 and 1942 reached an important time period. In addition, it was concluded that the socio-cultural programs of one-party administration have brought about a rapid transformation in Konya, especially in the center. It has also been concluded that the transformative activities are carried out in the community house in a planned way, and that the activities, which are often made for charity, undertake another task, such as adopting the activities pointing to the West to society.
