This practice, which is based on liberal thinking, was mainly applied until 1930. In fact, Lausanne Peace contains provisions that prevent the state from intervening in the economy until 1929, especially in terms of customs practices. The major economic downturn in 1929 was the World Economic Crisis, which broke out on the New York stock exchange and deeply affected world trade. The crisis brought the world agricultural products markets to a standstill and the Turkish economy was affected negatively.
