A QUALİTATİVE RESEARCH ON PLANNİNG, IMPLEMENTATİON AND EVALUATİON OF IN-SERVİCE TRAİNİNG ACTİVİTİES


In this research, it is aimed to determine the opinions of teachers regarding planning, implementation and evaluation of in-service training activities. This research is a qualitative research and semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. The study group of the research consisted of 4156 teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools in Muratpaşa district of Antalya in 2018-2019 academic year. Among these, 5 primary, 5 secondary and 5 high school teachers were interviewed who were willing to participate in in-service training activities. According to the results of the study, the majority of the participants stated that in-service training is necessary by specifying various reasons such as being aware of innovations, professional development, learning current practices in education and training and sharing information. In addition, the physical environment in which the in-service training activity is carried out is not suitable for reasons such as being too cold or too hot, being stuffy; On the other hand, it was stated by the majority of the participants that the psychological environment was not boring for the teachers and that they were put into student psychology in a fear and timid manner. The majority of the participants stated that they found it appropriate to make an evaluation at the end of the course. In the light of these results, it may be suggested that the reasons that require in-service training should be taken into consideration in planning, paying attention to the adequacy of adult education of the lecturer taking part in in-service training and that the physical environment is suitable for adult learning
