CONTRIBUTION OF ACTIVITIES IN EDUCATIONAL SPACES TO SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION: THE CASE OF PUBLİC HOUSES


The diversity of discipline, learning area, acquisition, skill and value included in the study area of social studies education has increased the diversity of the studies that are conducted or will be conducted in this field. As for studies in this field in Turkey, it said that occur in different learning environments until today the declaration of the republic. The main reason why these learning environments differ is due to the variability of curriculum and curriculum implementation within the process. The reflection of the vision caused by these variations in the programs has shown differences. These differences have been effective in many areas of education. This difference also varies according to the study area, discipline, learning area and learning environments. The field of social studies education, which is composed of different disciplines, brings different spatial learning environments to the forefront in line with the acquisitions and themes it contains. In each of these learning environments, different activities related to achievements are implemented. In this study, as an educational learning environment which is one of the factors in which these effects take place, the analysis of the studies conducted in the public houses in terms of social studies education is taken as the basis. Qualitative research method is used in the study, many academic works are examined. Document analysis technique was used to reach the studies related to the subject, to check and understand these studies, to analyze and interpret the data in the studies. When the data obtained as a result of the study is examined, it has been observed that the activities carried out in public houses as learning environment covers the applications of social studies education study area to different disciplines and learning areas.
