EVALUATION OF PLANNING SKILLS IN THE WRITTEN EXPRESSION OF FIRST AND SECONDARY STUDENTS


Individuals who can share their emotions, thoughts and dreams with oral expression easily have more difficulties due to the existence of some rules to be followed in written expression. Writing, which is as important as the least verbal expression, is an important skill area which should be given priority to the development since it provides the permanence of the information transferred from the past to the present. Process oriented writing approaches should be given priority in addition to product-oriented writing approaches. In the process-oriented writing approaches whose efficiency is proven by different studies, the planning step holds an important place. A student who successfully completes the planning step will be able to progress without difficulty in the writing process and will be able to produce a successful written product. Therefore, priority should be given to the development of the students' planning skills in the written expression activities. The aim of this study is to evaluate the planning skills of 12th grade and 12th grade students in the written expression. In the research, the Planning Scale was used in Written Expression which was developed by Erbilen (2014). The scale was applied to the 8th grade and 12th grade students in the primary and secondary schools in the city center. The data obtained from the study were defined in the spss 21.00 program. After the data were identified, t-test and one-way ANOVA were used for statistical evaluation. As a result of the study, it was determined that the students who have primary and secondary education in the research have moderate planning skills in written expression.
