The research population included 163 third-year undergraduates who were studying at Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. in the 2017-2018. In the research, “Word Association Test” was used to reveal the cognitive structures of the undergraduates. To construct the word association test, 6 key words related to the concept of energy were selected. The key words selected for the WAT are: energy, ATP, work, electric motor power, fission, power plant.
