THE EFFİCİENCY ON THE NON-LİFE İNSURANCE COMPANİES OPERATİNG İN TURKEY: AN APPLİCATİON WİTH DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSİS


The insurance sector, which is constantly growing every year, has an important share in the financial system. Therefore, evaluating the performance of insurance companies is very important for both the firm and the sector. Turkey Insurance Association 's Looking at the data for 2018; Thirty-nine non-life insurance company in Turkey, twenty-three life insurance and pension companies, and there are two reinsurance companies. Turkey Insurance Association's data from 2018 shows that when examined non-life insurance companies have a large share in the life insurance and pension sector, according to the company. For this reason, it is aimed to conduct an efficiency analysis to thirty-nine non- life insurance companies operating in the Turkish insurance sector in 2018. For this purpose, the data-driven CCR model of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used. Afterwards, a super event application was made in order to list the activities of the companies among themselves. As a result of the study, it was found that thirty-one insurance companies and eight insurance companies did not reach the efficiency limit. Meat found in the company; Magdeburger Sigorta AŞ, SS Atlas Mutual Insurance Cooperative, BNP Paribas Cardif Sigorta AŞ, Ziraat Sigorta AŞ, Koru Sigorta AŞ, Quick Sigorta AŞ, Ankara Anonim Türk Sigorta Şirketi, Türk P&I Sigorta AŞ. In addition, the potential improvement rates related to input and output variables were determined by identifying the companies that should be referenced for inactive companies to become effective.
