SAFETY PERCEPTIONS OF OWNED BUSINESS OVACIK DISTRICT


The main purpose of this research is to try to determine the security perceptions of business managers. People perceive whether they are safe, whether they will suffer any damage and feel it is called security perception. For the determination of the security perception, data were obtained with the voluntary contributions of the business managers operating in the Ovacık district. History of the county, many terrorist organizations operating within the boundaries of this district, the TKP municipality in our country to be the only municipality, such as the work was studied in the Ovacık district. In addition, business executives were included in the study because they were the enterprises that were the first to be directly affected by terrorism. The research sample is the top managers of 89 of the 113 enterprises operating in Ovacık as of January 2019. In order to obtain data in line with the purpose of the study, a final face-to-face survey was conducted to 89 business managers in total between 15.01.2019-25.02.2019. A total of 14 H1 hypotheses were constructed within the model boundaries. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that all hypotheses were accepted. At the end of the research, it was understood that the fight against terrorism was carried out in two areas. The first is the activities carried out by the security forces against the actions of the organizations and the other is the psycho-social and cultural activities aimed at eliminating the conditions in which terror occurs. None of these areas are less important than the other and should be conducted simultaneously. In other words, this study finds that the fight against terrorism alone is not sufficient and it is obligatory to support with socio-economic and cultural factors.
